Efeito de um programa de orientação de pais sobre comentários feitos por eles em competições / The effects of a parent’s guidance program about the frequencyof their comments during competitions

Este estudo desenvolveu e avaliou os efeitos de um programa de orientação para pais sobre a frequência dos comentários durante as competições de futsal de seus filhos. Participaram três pais de crianças da categoria sub-onze. Na Linha de Base, os comentários dos pais foram gravados durante os jogos. Na Intervenção, eles foram orientados individualmente utilizando O Guia dos Pais Torcedores. A avaliação pós-intervenção foi semelhante à Linha de Base. Os comentários foram categorizados e quantificados em positivos, negativos e neutros. Os resultados demonstram que os pais emitiram mais comentários positivos que negativos. As mudanças mais expressivas foram nos comentários reforçadores e instrutivos. O placar do jogo interferiu na taxa de comentários, em jogos mais competitivos, as taxas dos comentários motivadores e críticas aumentaram. Apesar de os pais concordarem sobre a importância da intervenção realizada, os resultados sugerem que ela foi efetiva apenas na mudança de algumas categorias.

This article developed and evaluated the effects of an orientation program for parents regarding the frequency of comments during their children’s futsal competitions. The ones participating were parents of three children from the sub-eleven category. The study was divided into phases. In the baseline, the comments were recorded during the games. In the intervention, parents were individually instructed using the Cheering Parent’s Guide. The evaluation after the intervention was similar to the one got after the baseline. The comments were categorized and quantified into positive, negative and neutral. The results demonstrated that parents emitted more positive than negative comments during the matches. The most significant changes were the reinforcing and instructive comments. It was noticed that the score of the game interfered in the comment rate, in more competitive games, the rate of motivating comments and criticisms raised. Despite the parents agreed on the importance of the intervention, the results suggested that it was only effective to change some categories.
