RESUMO
The incidente and duration of postdural puncture headache following spinal anesthesia with 27G. Quincke needle was investigated in 208 young women undergoing obstetrical (88 patients) and gynecological procedures (120 patients). Two patients developed typical symptoms of postdural puncture headache in the gynecological group. There were no patients with headache in the obstetrical group

Foi avaliada a incidência de cefaléia pós-punçäo dural em 286 pacientes jovens (menos de 40 anos) que foram submetidos à raquianestesia com agulhas 5,5 (25G) e 4 (27G) tipo Quicke. Dois pacientes (0,7 por cento), um homem e uma mulher desenvolveram cefaléia pós-raquianestesia. Näo houve diferença significativa na incidência em relaçäo ao sexo. Em seis pacientes näo foi possível a realizaçäo da raquianestesia com nenhuma das agulhas. Conclui-se que a cefaléia pós puncional embora näo seja eliminada, pode ser reduzida com agulhas 25G ou 27G
