RESUMO

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of plan-do-check-Act(PDCA)cycle management model combined with pulsed tooth punch applied in maintenance period of the patients with moderate to severe periodontitis, and to provide the theoretical basis for application of the PDCA cycle management model in the periodontitis patients. Methods:A total of 50 patients with moderate to severe periodontitis were selected based on predefined inclusion, exclusion, and elimination criteria. The patients were randomly divided into experiment group(n=25)and control group(n=25).The patients in experiment group underwent maintenance care with pulsed tooth punch in combination with the BASS brushing technique, while the patients in control group maintained oral hygiene with the BASS brushing technique alone. The patients in both two groups were managed with the PDCA cycle management model. The patients were asked to return for follow-up visits at 2,4,8,and 12 weeks of self-care,and the personalized corrections and guidance were provided based on the plaque accumulation. The clinical periodontal parameters, including plaque index(PLI),probing depth(PD),and bleeding index(BI),at 4 and 12 weeks of self-care,as well as the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-17(IL-17)in the gingival crevicular fluid of the patients in two groups were observed and recorded. Results:After 4 and 12 weeks of self-care,compared with control group, the PLI,PD,and BI of the patients in experiment group were significantly decreased(P<0.01);compared with baseline, the PLI,PD,and BI of the patients in both two groups at 4 and 12 weeks of self-care were increased(P<0.05 or P<0.01);Compared with 4 weeks of self-care,the PLI,PD,and BI of the patients at 12 weeks of self-care were increased(P<0.01).After 4 and 12 weeks of self-care,compared with control group, the levels of TNF-α and IL-17 in gingival crevicular fluid of the patients in experiment group were significantly decreased(P<0.01);compared with baseline, the levels of TNF-α and IL-17 in gingival crevicular fluid of the patients in two groups at 4 and 12 weeks of self-care were increased(P<0.01).Conclusion:The use of pulsed tooth punch under the PDCA cycle management model can significantly decrease the PLI,PD,BI,and the levels of inflammatory factors in gingival crevicular fluid of the patients with moderate to severe periodontitis, and inhibit the plaque formation and control the gingival inflammation, benefite the maintenance of efficacy of the patients with moderate to severe periodontitis.

RESUMO

Objective To compare set?up error and the positioning and error correction time between the infrared markers automatic positioning+ ExacTrac ( A) and the manual positioning+ cone?beam computed tomography ( CBCT) image?guided radiotherapy ( IGRT) ( B) in intensity?modulated radiotherapy ( IMRT) for lung cancer. Methods A total of 20 patients with lung cancer were randomly divided into Group A and Group B. In Group A, after automatic positioning, a group of orthogonal X?rays images were taken using kV X?rays, which matched digitally reconstructed radiographs to obtain errors before correction. In group B, after manual positioning, images were taken using CBCT, which matched reference computed tomography images to obtain errors before correction. The positioning and error correction time was recorded in both groups. After error correction, errors after correction were obtained in each group using IGRT. Between?group comparison was made using the paired t test. Results The errors in lateral, longitudinal, vertical, and spinning vertical directions were significantly reduced after correction in both Group A and B (A:1.8±1?3 vs. 0.4±0?1, P=0?000;2.7±1?9 vs. 0.5±0?1, P=0?000;2.8±1?7 vs. 0.4±0?1, P=0?000;1.6±1?0 vs. 0.3±0?9, P=0?000;B:2.6±1?9 vs. 0.5±0?5, P=0?000;3.1±2?5 vs. 0.6±0?6, P=0?000;2.1±1?8 vs. 0.5±0?5, P=0?000;0.9±0?7 vs. 0.3±0?1, P=0?000). There were no significant differences in errors after correction between Group A and Group B (0.4±0?1 vs. 0.5±0?5, P=0?204;0.5±0?1 vs. 0.6± 0?6, P=0?257;0.4± 0?1 vs. 0.5± 0?5, P=0?518;0.3± 0?9 vs. 0.3± 0?1, P=0?755 ) . However, the positioning and error correction time in Group A was significantly shorter than that in Group B (199.1±16?2 vs. 315.2±13?7, P=0?000). Conclusions The application of ExacTrac or CBCT IGRT can substantially reduce set?up errors and improve set?up accuracy in IMRT. In addition, the application of the ExacTrac system can substantially shorten the positioning and error correction time.

RESUMO

Objective To test and validate the comprehensiveness, usability and reliability of the questionnaire we made for publicity efforts of biobanking activities in China. We aim to learn public attitudes toward biobanking donation of biological materials, collection and long-term storage for biomedical research. Methods In the cross-sectional study,292 participants were interviewed with the self-administered questionnaire. The survey questionnaire presents an extensive battery of questions on demographic information, participation of previous studies, cognition of biobank and related concepts, opinions on biobank-related issues and trust on healthcare system.Different statistic methods were taken to do item analysis, reliability and validity evaluation. Results The Cronbach's α coefficient of the whole questionnaire was 0.850 and the cognition and attitude were the two factors with the highest internal reliability. All the Spearman correlation coefficients were large than 0.5 (p<0.01) . Three factors explained 59.2% of the questionnaire structure found by factor analysis, and all factors could be regarded as cognition factors, attitude factors and behaviors factors. Conclusions The survey questionnaire is evaluated to be reliable and applicable to gathering data on publicity efforts to assess the public attitude towards biobanking activities in China.
