Introduction: The incursion of professional surgical instrument technicians as instructors of asepsis and antisepsis procedures in various sociocultural contexts such as tattoo, piercing and body modification settings is based on virtual teaching and learning TIC and OVA. Objective: To analyze the results of a research on OVA as a pedagogical virtual tool to develop competencies in a group of tattoo, piercing and body alteration artists. Methodology: The analysis started on phase II as the design of a teaching resource promoted by surgical instrument technicians of the FUCS, for the workers of a tattoo parlor in Bogotá. Thirty-six articles and documents were reviewed. The search was performed using Scielo, Lilacs, OMS, OPS, PubMed and academic Google databases. Results: OVA as a virtual pedagogical tool for competency development, is a teaching and learning option which transcends and breaks current education paradigms; it constitutes a pedagogical strategy for tattoo, piercing and body alteration artists. The incursion of surgical instrument technicians in diverse settings is described. Conclusions: Continuous educational development has led to the current use of OVA as a competency-based pedagogical tool representing a fundamental pillar to facilitate the development of educational projects in the future

A male patient comes and consulted for pain and functional impotence of the left hip. With radiographic studies, a hip arthrodesis is decided during surgery and a discharge appears whitish lumps presenting a report Ziehl Neelsen Positive (+). The x- ray shows a diffuse miliary infiltrates in the upper lobes and free costophrenic breasts. He received Antibaciliar treatment. The GeneXpert detects Mycobacterium tuberculosis and rifampin resistance without in joint fluid is isolated Mycobacterium tuberculosis using the automated BACTEC MGIT TM320. The diagnosis of extrapulmonary tuberculosis by molecular techniques and automated methods accelerates the development of mycobacteria and confirm what has been suspected .The diagnosis allows a quick and effective therapeutic intervention.

RESUMO

Based on previous findings that lens pigments and melanins share many physicochemical properties, human lens pigments and natural (hair) and synthetic melanins were submitted to oxidation with permanganate under strong acidic conditions. This procedure has been utilized for the characterization of melanins and results in the well defined products, thiazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid (TDCA) and pyrrole-2,3,5-tricarboxylic acid (PTCA), which can be quantitated by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). PTCA is regarded as a marker of black eumelanins and was therefore a main component of synthetic DOPA-eumelanin and dark hair. Its identity was established by synthesis from 5-hydroxyindole-2-carboxylic acid. TDCA derives from pheomelanins and was therefore an important component of red hair and synthetic GSH-pheomelanin. TDCA was identified by its retention time relative to PTCA. The analysis of a series of cataract digests of increasing pigmentation (type I < type IV < type V) and a purified fraction of lens pigments (DE52 pigment) revealed the presence in these preparations of both PTCA and TDCA. The concentration of TDCA significantly increased with the degree of pigmentation of the digests and reached a maximum in the DE52 pigment. The TDCA/PTCA ratio was high in the lens preparations and comparable to that given by hair pheomelanin. These findings support that pheomelanin is an integral part of lens pigments. By comparing the yields of TDCA in GSH-pheomelanin and in the purified lens pigment, a 9 per cent contribution of pheomelanin to the lens pigment was estimated
