Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia, characterized by progressive cognitive impairment. Clinical diagnosis is usually late, occurring after induction of irreversible neuronal injury. New neuroimaging techniques allow for the in vivo evaluation of AD pathogenesis (functional magnetic resonance imaging fMRI, positron emission tomography-computed tomography - PET-CT) representing a new hope for the early diagnosis, prevention and tentative treatment of this disease.

Maternal hypotension after spinal anesthesia for cesarian sections is an extremely common event in anesthesia delivery room. The treatment with vasopressors is the better behavior in the case, with the use of phenylephrine as safe and effective. The response to treatment is best assessed by non-invasive clinical parameters.
