RESUMO
Thirty patients with renal transplantation and receiving Sandimmun therapy were studied to detect the effect of the drug on their mixed saliva and gingiva. The saliva was analyzed biochemically for the determination of creatinine, urea and uric acid concentrations. Clinical and histological examinations of the gingiva were carried out. The results showed that gingival hyperplasia was induced in about 1/3 of the patients. The concentrations of urea and uric acid were increased in the saliva of the patients while the level of creatinine did not change
