RESUMO

Teaching rounds is an important part of clinical teaching. It bright the theory guide to clinical practice. The classical Chinese medicine theory plays an essential role in teaching and clinical practice. During the CBL (case-based learning) teaching rounds of acupuncture and moxibustion, by selecting typical cases, in combination with directional problem settings, the classical Chinese medicine theory is run through the whole process to motivate students' initiative, improve teaching quality and promote inheritance and development of TCM.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of dragon-tiger contending needling at Xi-cleft points plus electroacupuncture in treating postherpetic neuralgia (PHN).Method Seventy PHN patients were randomized into a treatment group of 36 cases and a control group of 34 cases. The treatment group was intervened by dragon-tiger contending needling at Xi-cleft points plus electroacupuncture, while the control group was treated with electroacupuncture alone. In the 4-week treatment, the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores right before and after the 1st, 2nd, 6th, 9th and 12th treatment sessions were recorded, “the maximum pain intensity since the last treatment session” and “real-time analgesic effect” were observed, and the total therapeutic efficacy was also evaluated.Result The real-time analgesic effects right after the 1st, 2nd and 6th treatments in the treatment group were significantly better than those in the control group (P<0.05). The “maximum pain intensities since the last treatment session” prior to the 2nd, 6th, 9th, and 12th treatment sessions were significantly different from the pain intensity before the intervention in the two groups (P<0.05). The “maximum pain intensities since the last treatment session” prior to the 6th, 9th, and 12th treatment sessions were significantly different from those in the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate and recovery plus markedly-effective rate were respectively 97.2% and 77.8% in the treatment group, versus 91.2% and 59.2% in the control group. There was a statistically significant difference in the recovery plus markedly-effective rate between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Dragon-tiger contending needling at Xi-cleft points plus electro- acupuncture is an effective approach in treating PHN; it acts efficiently and can produce a satisfactory real-time analgesic effect.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on the cognitive function of rats with chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH) and its possible mechanism. Methods Forty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into a sham operation group of 10 and an operation group of 30.Permanent bilateral common carotid artery occlusion (BCCAO) was conducted to introduce a model of CCH in the operation group, which was further divided into a model group,an EA 4 w group and an EA 1 w group, each of 10.The EA 4 w group was given 2/100 Hz dilatational wave EA for 4 weeks, and the EA 1 w group was provided with the same EA for one week.A Morris water maze was used to assess the rats' cognitive functioning, and a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was employed to detect the expression of JAK2/STAT3 mRNA in all the rats' brains. Results Compared with the sham operation group, the rCBF in the operation group had decreased significantly after BCCAO,and it was significantly lower than before the operation.Compared with the model group, the escape latency improved significantly from the 3rd day in the EA 4 w group, and from the 5th day in the EA 1 w group. The targeted quadrant residence time of the EA 4 w group was prolonged significantly.JAK2/STAT3 mRNA expression decreased significantly only in the EA 4 w group.Compared with the EA 1 w group, the escape latency of the EA 4 w group had decreased significantly by the 5th day, with the target quadrant residence time significantly prolonged, and JAK2 mRNA had decreased significantly as well. Conclusion EA can improve cognition in CCH,at least in rats, and especially with early intervention. This may be achieved through inhibiting excessive activation of the JAK2/STAT3 pathway, reducing brain injury.

RESUMO

[Objective]Overview the understanding of modern and traditional medicine to aphasia, and analyse the mechanism of tongue ’s 3-needle to treatment. [Methods]General discussion of modern and traditional medicine to aphasia from etiology, pathology, herapy, and further expound the principle of tongue’s 3-needle from point distribution, meridian, local anatomy and experimental study.[Results] Modern medicine focuses more on classification, mechanism, assessment of aphasia, but traditional medicine stresses on therapies. Tongue’s 3-needle,which locates on throat belong to Jin’s three needles system, relates to heart, spleen, liver maridians. They can improve local circulation, enhance neuromuscular excitability, and have a positive effect on the expression of a variety of biological factors, so they can promote recovery of language.[Conclusion] The mechanism of aphasia is complex and difficult to treat.Tongue’s 3-needle has solid theoretical basis on both traditional and modern medicine on treating aphasia,it is worth promoting and inheritting.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the influence of Jinsanzhen therapy (A 3-point acupuncture method created by prof.JIN) on the motor function and activities of daily life of the apoplectic hemiplegia patients. Methods Totally 135 apoplectic hemiplegia patients were randomized into three groups:Jinsanzhen group,Rehabilitation group, and Jinsanzhen plus rehabilitation group, with 45 cases in each. The degree of hemiplegia motor function and activities of daily life of the patients was assessed with Fugl-Meyer assessment (FM) and Barthel index before,14 and 28 days after treatment. Results After 14 and 28 days' treatment, the FM value and Barthel index score of all the three groups are significantly increased (P
