RESUMO

Objective: To determine the epidemiology in multi-drugresistant TB (MDRTB) patients in the department of Ica, MINSA 2003 (patients attending to the Health Ministery Hospital). Materials and Methods: It is a descriptive, retrospective and transversal study. A 32 patient sample was taken, all patients were taken a survey and data from their clinical history were obtained. Results: 65.6 per cent patients were male (21), 43.8 per cent patients were from 10-20 years old being the most frequent range age found. 71.9 per cent patients were younger than 30. The mean age was 27.84 and the SD:12.75, patients ranging from 13-61 years old. Most. The patients marital status was as follows: 81.3 per cent patients were single (21), 12.5 per cent patients were living together (4), and 6.3 per cent patients were married. Considering the place of birth; 68.8 per cent patients were from Ica city (22),21.9 per cent patients were from Nazca city (7), 6.3 per cent patients were from Chincha city(2); and 3.1 per cent patients were from Pisco city (1). Prevalence was found to be 0.55 x 1000 inhabitants in lca department and when the cases were divided into provinces, Nazca was found to have the highest rate prevalence (1.32 x 1000 inhabitants) and lea was found to have a prevalence of 0.68x1000, both provinces having higher prevalence than the mean in the department of lca. Concerning to the days of TB treatment followed in all its treatment scheme up to the time of the survey, patients were found to have a mean periodof treatment of 996.7 days, being the SD459.9 days, and having a range from 368 to 2146 days of treatment, raising to the conclusion that 73.3 per cent of the patients had followed less than 1256 days of treatment. Conclusions: It was observed that the patient population presenting MDR-TBC was, predominantly, young, single and male, the highest incidence rate was found in Nazca, and it was found that these patients where treated for a long period of time.


Objetivo: Determinar la epidemiología del paciente TBC-MDR en el departamento de lca Minsa 2003 Materiales y Métodos: El presente es un estudio descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo se tomó una muestra de 32 pacientes a quienes se les realizó una encuesta, así como se obtuvo datos de la historia clínica. Resultados: El 65.6 por ciento (21) de los pacientes fueron de sexo masculino, el grupo etßreo mßs fretuente fue de 10 - 20 a±os con el 43.8 por ciento (14), siendo el 71,9 por ciento menores de 30 a±os, la media de la edad fue de 27,84 a±os y una DS 12.75 a±os, teniendo pacientes desde un rango de 13 a 61 a±os de edad. En cuanto al estado civil el 81.3 por ciento (26) fueron solteros, 12,5 por ciento (4) convivientes y solo 6.3 por ciento (2) fueron casados. De acuerdo a la ciudad de procedencia el 68.8 por ciento (22) fueron de la ciudad de lca, 21.9 (7) de Nazca, 6.3 por ciento (2) Chincha y 3.1 por ciento (1) Pisco; Al sacar las tasas de prevalencia encontramos que la del departamento de lca, era de 0,55 x 10000 habitantes, y al desdoblarla por provincias encontramos la mayor tasa de prevalencia en la ciudad de Nazca con 1,32 x 10000 habitantes, y de la provincia de lca era de 0,68 x 10000 habitantes ambas superiores al promedio departamental. En cuanto al número de días de tratamiento antituberculoso en sus diferentes esquemas hasta el momento de la encuesta encontramos que el promedio fue de 996.7 días con una desviación estßndar de 459.9 días con un rango que va de 368 a 2146 días, encontrßndose que el 73.3 por ciento tenían menos de 1256 días de tratamiento. Conclusiones: Se observó que la población de pacientes TBC-MDR era predominantemente joven de sexo masculino, solteros, siendo la tasa de incidencia mayor del departamento la provincia de nazca, observßndose que estos pacientes han sido tratados por largos períodos de tiempo.
