RESUMO

Cysts of the seminal vesicle, although rare, are well recognized clinical entities which are now seen with increasing frequency with modern pelvic imaging modalities. These cysts may be unilateral or bilateral; congenital or acquired. Seminal vesicle cysts may arise from inflammation of the seminal vesicle or from embryological remnants such as Mullarian duct. Surgical removal has been the treatment of choice either by an abdominal or laparoscopic approach. Here we present a case of seminal vesicle cyst of congenital type in a 3 year old boy, who also had a non-functioning left pelvic ectopic kidney

RESUMO

A case of scrotal botryomycosis in 50 year old Bahraini male is described. This patient developed intermittent scrotal swelling for the last 6 months which burst with abscess discharge. Microscopic examination showed characteristic granules that resemble those of infection by Actinomyces species. Successful treatment often requires a combination of both surgical excision and antibiotic therapy in such cases. We describe the clinical and pathological findings of this case with review the literature on this uncommon infectious disease

RESUMO

We reviewed 23 patients who have undergone surgery for Congenital Hydronephrosis in Salmaniya Medical Centre and Bahrain Defence Force Hospital for the period between November 1979 - November 1984. There were 18 male and 5 female patients. Eleven had congenital Pelvi-Ureteric [P.U.] junction obstruction on the right side. The remaining patients were obstructed on the left side with one case of bilateral obstructions. Congenital Hydronephrosis was diagnosed in all cases. All patients underwent conservative surgery. In doing this we aimed at renal salvage and improvement of function
