RESUMO
The Przewalskii´s horse or Mongolian wild horse (Equus przewalskii, Poljakov, 1881) is presently the only species of wild horse in existence. Originally from Asia, it is, classified as in extremely high risk of extinction which puts the species in the seriously threatened category. The aim of this work was the preservation of tissues and the development of cell cultures from tissue samples obtained from a Przewalskii´s horse after its death. Biopsies of skin, skeletal and cardiac muscle, and ear cartilage were removed from a recently dead horse, added to Phosphate Buffer Saline (PBS) and refrigerated until processing. Some of the samples were frozen in liquid nitrogen and the other was grown as explants to generate fibroblast cell monolayers. The cell cultures obtained, were subsequently propagated with low passages, and frozen in liquid nitrogen, thus avoiding genetic and phenotypic alterations. The tissues and cell cultures were thawed to ascertain their viability by checking its progressive grow in a flask. It was not possible to obtain cultures from cardiac muscle. A bank of tissues and cells from the single Przewalskii´s horse that existed in Uruguay was generated, and can be used for scientific purposes and for the conservation of the species in the future

Se presentan algunas consideraciones sobre algunos aspectos éticos en salud mental, los enfermos y la enfermedad mental, las frecuentes violaciones de los códigos y normas internacionales, entre las tendencias actuales del mundo contemporáneo en esta importante temática, al tiempo que se reflexiona en los principales aspectos que según la OMS constituyen recomendaciones a tener en cuenta en la confección y diseño de la legislación en salud mental, por la importancia que ello tiene en la materialización de los planes y políticas en este sentido. Se presenta el contraste de la realidad cubana actual, a tono con la cultura profesional y social alcanzada en nuestro país en estos años de Revolución en relación con la Salud Mental, los contundentes logros que hoy se exhiben con resultados palpables reconocidos a nivel mundial, aun cuando se señalan algunas insuficiencias en la legislación existente, aludiendo a las imperfecciones, brechas, y algunos aspectos susceptibles de nuevos enfoques, los que tienen que ver con los problemas que dominan el cuadro actual de la salud mental, sugiriendo su revisión. Motivar que reflexionemos en el orden ético con una mirada diferente acorde a las circunstancias que hoy enfrentamos, propiciará que nuevas ideas iluminen el camino para mejorar el bienestar, los derechos y la calidad de vida de los enfermos mentales en nuestras sociedades.
Some considerations are presented on some ethical aspects in mental health, the sick persons and the mental illness, the frequent violations of the codes and international norms, among the current tendencies of the contemporary world in this important one thematic, at the time that is meditated in the main aspects that constitute recommendations to keep in mind in the making and design of the legislation in mental health according to the OMS, by the importance that has it in the materialization of the plans and political in this sense. The contrast of the current Cuban reality is presented, to tone with the professional and social culture reached in our country in these years of Revolution in connection with the Mental Health, the overwhelming achievements that today is exhibited with grateful palpable results at world level, even when some inadequacies are pointed out in the existent legislation, mentioning to the imperfections, breaches, and some susceptible aspects of new focuses, those that have to do with the problems that dominate the current square of the mental health, suggesting its revision. To motivate that we meditate in the ethical order with a look different chord to the circumstances that today faces, it will propitiate that new ideas illuminate the road to improve the well-being, the rights and the quality of the mental sick persons' life in our societies.
RESUMO
El termino "crisis hipertensivas" frecuentemente usado para designar aumentos de la tension arterial, se divide en la actualidad en emergencias (poco frecuentes) y urgencias (mucho mas frecuentes). Esta clasificacion permite un enfoque racional del problema y destaca que no debe tratarse solo un nivel absoluto de presion. En este trabajo presentamos situaciones frecuentes en la practica medica y su forma de atenderlas, fundamentalmente las urgencias hipertensivas. Se comentan posibles variantes terapeuticas y se senala el mal uso de otras (por ejemplo, la furosemida). Se ofrecen elementos que permiten individualizar a cada paciente y actuar segun los recursos disponibles, se debe recordar que es mas dificil mantener el control cronico de la hipertension que llevar a la normalidad las alzas tensionales agudas
