RESUMO

Filamentous microalga Tribonema sp. has the advantages of highly resistance to zooplankton-predation, easy harvesting, and high cellular lipid content, in particular large amounts of palmitoleic acid (PA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Therefore, Tribonema sp. is considered as a promising biomass feedstock to produce biodiesel and high-value products. In this work, we studied the effect of different concentrations of nitrogen (NaNO₃: 255-3 060 mg/L), phosphorus (K₂HPO₄: 4-240 mg/L), iron ((NH₄)₃FeC₁₂H₁₀O₁₄: 0.6-12 mg/L) and magnesium (MgSO₄: 7.5-450 mg/L) on the biomass, lipid content, and fatty acid composition of Tribonema sp. FACHB-1786, aiming at enhancing cell lipid productivity. The growth of Tribonema sp. had a positive correlation with the concentration of magnesium, and the maximum biomass of Tribonema sp. (under the condition of 450 mg/L MgSO₄) was 8.09 g/L, much greater than those reported in previous studies using the same and other Tribonema species under autotrophic conditions. Different nitrogen concentrations exerted no significant effect on algal growth (P > 0.05), but a higher nitrogen concentration resulted in a greater amount of lipid in the cells. The maximum volumetric productivities of total lipids (319. 6 mg/(L·d)), palmitoleic acid (135.7 mg/(L·d)), and eicosapentaenoic acid (24.2 mg/(L·d)) of Tribonema sp. were obtained when the concentrations of NaNO₃, K₂HPO₄, (NH₄)₃FeC₁₂H₁₀O₁₄, and MgSO₄ were 765 mg/L, 80 mg/L, 6 mg/L, and 75 mg/L, respectively. This study will provide a reference for substrate optimization for Tribonema sp. growth and lipid production.

RESUMO

AIM: To discuss the effects of cumin total flavonoids on experimental gastric ulcer and the mechanisms.METHODS: Three rat gastric ulcer models induced by pylorus ligation, ethanol or reserpine were selected.Based on these models, the gastric juice, pH value, ulcer index and suppressive rate were recorded to determine the inhibitory effects of cumin flavonoids on rat gastric ulcers. In addition, the concentrations of gastrin (GAS), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and epidermal growth factor (EGF) were detected to further uncover the mechanisms of these effects.RESULTS: Cumin flavonoids exhibited significant anti-gastric ulcer effects on the three models.Low-dose treatment group (P<0.01) demonstrated higher inhibitory effects than high-dose group (P<0.01), and both low-and high-dose groups had lower effects than cimetidine treatment.Furthermore, cumin flavonoids were able to profoundly decrease the amount of gastric juice, free acidity, total acidity and output of total acid, and enhance the expression of PGE2 and EGF, but down-regulate the level of GAS in rat serum in a dose-dependent manner.CONCLUSION: Cumin flavonoids might inhibit experimental gastric ulcers by affecting and regulating the gastric juice, PEG2, EGF and GAS.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the effect of total alkaloids of Sophora alopecuroides L on the nervous behavior and the expression of neurotransmitters in rats. Methods 48 male SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups:blank group, total alkaloids of Sophora alopecuroides L treatment with 4 mg·kg-1 ·d-1 ( low dose group) ,8 mg·kg-1 ·d-1( medium dose group) and 16 mg·kg-1 ·d-1( high dose group) groups. After successive intragastric administration for 30 days, the locomotor activity was applied to test the nervous behavior and emotional state of rats in each group. After behavioral tests were finished, the contents of trypto-phan (Trp),5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP),5-serotonin (5-HT),5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA), norepinephrine (NE),epinephrine (E) and dopamine (DA) were detected by ELISA in serum and brain. Results In the experiment of locomotor activity, compared with blank group ((95.33±12.75) times),the numbers of horizontal movement of Sophora alopecuroides L in medium and high dose group ( ( 61. 64 ± 5.91),(64.62±5.79)times both P0.05). Correlation analysis indicated that the degree of au-tonomic activity in rats with the content of 5-HT,5-HIAA and DA in serum was negatively correlated (P<0.05, P<0.01) ,the degree of emotional stress and the content of 5-HT,5-HIAA in brain was negatively cor-related (P<0.05, P<0.01) . Conclusion The total alkaloids of Sophora alopecuroides L can reduce the ac-tivity of rats and increase the degree of emotional stress. And the mechanism may be correlated with the in-creasing level of 5-HT and 5-HIAA in serum and brain.

RESUMO

AIM: To explore Yukuining Granules(Endoconcha Sepiae,Rhizoma Corydalis,Radix Astragali praeparata cum melle,Radix Paeoniae Alba,Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae praeparata cum melle, etc) pharmacodynamic action of resisting gastric ulcer. METHODS: The rat's gastric ulcer models were induced by irritabal stimulus, pyloric ligation, acetic acid and ethanol-induced gastric mucosa injure, respectively. The ulcer was observed and the content of gastric juice, gastric acidity and pepsin were measured.Yukuining Granules pharmacodynamic action was also measured by observing its effect of alleviating pain on torsivesion malposition mice. The max dosage that mice could tolerate was recorded everyday. RESULTS: YKN Granules could significantly reduce the areas of ulcers, restrain gastric ulcer, promote gastric ulcer heal, reduce gastric juice volume, restrain gastric secretion and alleviate the pain induced by acetic acid in mice,The daily max tolerant dosage was equal to 288 times of clinical routine. CONCLUSION: YKN Granules have a marked anti-ulcerative effect and show the less side effect.
