RESUMO

Persistent Muellerian duct syndrome is a very rare anomaly. A woman of 46-year-old was admitted with the history of lower abdominal pain, bleeding per vaginum and irregular menstrual cycles for last 6 months. An irregular non-tender mass of 16 x 10cm in size was palpable in suprapubic region. Per vaginal examination revealed two cervices and an incomplete vaginal septum. Ultrasound abdomen showed one uterus with endometrial cavity clearly delineated with a fibroid and an ovarian cyst in the left lumbar region. On laparotomy, 2 uterii along with a fibroid from the anterior wall of left uterus and a left ovarian cyst was seen. Patient had undergone total abdominal hysterectomy and adnexa removal. The specimen showed florid adenomyosis with leiomyoma of fibroid.

RESUMO

Oncocytic tumours of adrenal gland are rare lesions with approximately twenty-five cases being documented in literature. A majority of them are nonfunctional and benign. We report a case of adrenal oncocytoma in a 44-year-old male, who underwent a laparotomy for a large mass in the abdomen, which was located above the left kidney. Routine histopathological examination was suggestive of a benign tumour with cells resembling oncocytes. However, immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy helped to confirm the diagnosis of an adrenocortical oncocytoma.

RESUMO

A 43 year old female was admitted with features of intestinal obstruction. On laparotomy, a strangulated Richter's hernia with an abscess within an incisional hernial sac through a previous lower segment caesarean section scar was diagnosed. Resection and anastomosis was performed. Strangulated Richter's hernia is a rare entity making up 8.3% of all strangulated hernias. There have been reports of Richter's hernia with strangulation in inguinal hernia, femoral hernia and port hernia after laparoscopic surgery but none so far in an incisional hernia.
