Evaluation of results of maxillary sinus lifting surgeries using Resorbable synthetic hydroxyapatite

AIM: This study aims to evaluate the results of 10 cases of maxillary sinus lifting using synthetic resorbable hydroxyapatite (osteogen ®) as a filling material. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The surgeries were performed in patients who presented bone resorption in this region. The results were compared radiographically six months after the surgery through initial and final radiographs analysis. RESULTS: The vertical bone height gain was on average 1200.4%, when compared to the initial bone edge. CONCLUSION: The formation of bone tissue in that region had made possible future prosthetic rehabilitation.

A invenção do método: diplomacia como ética de pesquisa / The invention of the method: diplomacy as research ethics / La invención del método: la diplomacia como ética de la investigación

Este artigo parte da pergunta “Como inventar um método?” não em direção à resposta a esta questão, mas, antes, a uma discussão sobre a postura do pesquisador no exercício de construção de metodologias de pesquisa. Para tanto, buscamos pôr em questão aqueles modos de fazer pesquisa que são marcados pela hierarquização entre o pesquisador e seu objeto de estudo. Como alternativa trazemos a postura ética assumida pelo personagem do diplomata construído por Vinciane Despret para o desdobrarmos em duas ferramentas que, acreditamos, podem contribuir para colocar em análise as relações assimétricas entre os atores da pesquisa. Quais sejam: a irredutibilidade das diferenças entre os atores presentes no campo da pesquisa e o reconhecimento da multiplicidade das verdades e dos modos de existência.

This article arises from the question “How to invent a method?”, not toward the answer to this question, but rather to a discussion of the posture of the researcher in the exercise of building research methodologies. To this end, we aim to question those ways of doing research that are marked by a hierarchy between the researcher and its research object. As an alternative we bring the ethical stance taken by the character of the Diplomat, built by Vinciane Despret, to unfold in two tools which we believe can help to question the asymmetrical relations between the actors of the research. Namely: the irreducibility of the differences between the actors present in the field of research and recognition of the multiplicity of truths and modes of existence.

Este artículo parte de la pregunta “¿Cómo inventar un método?”, no hacia la respuesta a esta pregunta, pero antes a una discusión sobre la postura del investigador en el ejercicio de la construcción de metodologías de investigación. Con este fin, se busca cuestionar esas formas de hacer la investigación que están marcadas por una jerarquía entre el investigador y el objeto de la investigación. Como alternativa traemos la postura ética adoptada por el Diplomat, personaje construido por Vinciane Despret, a desarrollarse en dos herramientas que se espera que puedan ayudar a poner en cuestión las relaciones asimétricas entre los actores de la investigación. A saber: la irreductibilidad de las diferencias entre los actores presentes en el campo de la investigación y el reconocimiento de la multiplicidad de las verdades y de los modos de existencia.
