RESUMO

In this paper a new type of cerebral circulation is introduced, including the basic principal, parameter algorithms and equipment design. The analyzer is developed on the basis of previous cerebral circulation analyzer and combined with the latest development of hemodynamics. It has the advantages of previous analyzer and overcomes its shortcomings frequently encountered in clinical that unable to finish the analysis without detection of all the intracranial vessels. It provides new functional module and adds indices such as hydraulic power, carotidshear stress, comprehensive index etc. This analyzer can be used for cerebral circulation dynamic analysis and auxiliary diagnosis of cerebrovascular diseases.

RESUMO

Utilizing the third-order polynomial curve fitted to the experimental data, which represents the relationship between cerebral blood flow (CBF) and mean artery blood pressure (MABP), we constructed a lumped-parameter dynamic model with 5 elements. In this model; the resistance is not constants it is determined by the fitted curve. We simulated the process of CBF autoregulation numerically by solving the govern equation of this model and got quite accurate results. Furthermore, we studied the influence of hemodynamic parameters on the CBF autoregulation by this model and proved that the characteristic resistance is the most important factor.

RESUMO

Based on the morphology and function of lymphatic vessel, and on the achievements of researches in the regulatory mechanism of lymphatic circulation, we fully considered the dynamic interaction of blood, interstitial fluid and lymph fluid; then we imitated and used Sungawa's method of analyzing the heart output, and finally set up a dynamic model for describing lymphatic circulation. Comparison of our calculating results with the data from Ikomi's experiment showed that they were identical, thus indicating that our model is of value in explaining the dynamic mechanism of lymphatic circulation. In this paper is especially calculated the relationship between lymph flow and massage frequency, which is useful for analyzing the effect of massage on the lymph flow rate with respect to this model.

RESUMO

Objective: To observe the effects of nerve block on MA and EA analgesia and mast cells degranulation in adjuvant arthritis rats in order to analyze the difference between the underlying peripheral mechanism of MA and EA analgesia. Methods: Zusanli (ST 36) was chosen as the acupuncturing point on adjuvant arthritis rats. Eighty SD rats were randomized into 10 groups, including control, model, normal+Lido, EA, Lido+EA, DLido+ZEA, Xlido+ZEA, MA, Lido+MA, Dlido+ZMA groups, with 8 rats in each group. Paw Withdraw Latencies and mast cells degranulation ratios were recorded and computed. Results: Compared with model group, the pain threshold (PT) and mast cells degranulation ratios of EA and MA groups were obviously increased (P<0.05 or P<0.01). The analgesia effects of both MA and EA were obviously attenuated after nerve block by pretreated with Lidocaine hydrochloride at the acupuncturing point or at the acupiont of proximal end in the same neural stem while they were not by the same manipulations at the acupoint of distal end. Degranulation ratios of mast cells caused by MA or EA were not obviously affected by nerve block. Conclusion: The effective signal of nerve conduction of MA analgesia is generated after the degranulation of mast cells in the process of acupoints activation or needle sense and it is the direct cause of generation of nerve signal. In the condition of EA, the acupoints activation is caused by the stimulation of electric signal on nerve receptor while the degranulation of mast cells is concomitant or feedback effect.

RESUMO

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the functional structure of human body is composed of five functional subsystems which are based on the five-organs concept, and the relationship between them could be expatiated with Wu-Xing (Five-Elements) theory. Wu-Xing system is taken as our research object. The dynamic model has the characteristic of self-organization. There is only one stable point with local stability in the five-dimensional space. There exists an instability domain in the five-dimensional space. The stability domain is unbounded; it contains some special subdomains, including rectilineal subdomains, ray subdomains and line subdomains. In some ray subdomains, there exists comeback summits, the peak value of the comeback summit is comeback threshold. The existence of the comeback threshold means that, if the human body wants to go back to the healthy state from a certain special state which corresponded to the initial conditions located in a domain with comeback summit, it has to get across the comeback threshold. The comeback threshold is the division of the healthy state and the sub-healthy state. Some research work is done to investigate the response of the Wu-Xing dynamic model to the impact stimulation, and results in the decrease of the system's comeback threshold. There are 3 manners to achieve this goal, and they tally with the principle of the Wu-Xing system and the experimental rules in clinic.

RESUMO

Objective: To evaluate the effects of 650 nm-10.6 μm combined laser in patients with knee Osteoarthritis (OA) and to determine whether the combined laser provides greater pain relief and improved function compared with red light. Methods: Forty-eight patients with knee OA were randomly allocated to two groups (24 per group), receiving 20 rain irradiation with 650 nm -10.6 μm combined laser or red light emitting diode respectively on point Dubi (ST 35) 3 times a week for the first course (2 weeks) and twice a week for the second one (4 weeks). The main outcome measures were WOMAC (Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index) scores. In addition, patients' global assessment, adverse effects and validation of patient blinding were analyzed. Results: All the patients completed the first course, but 12 were lost during the second one. Due to the high dropout rate by the second course, only the data acquired from the first course could be analyzed. No differences of general data of patients and WOMAC scores were found in between-group comparison before treatment (P>0.05). The WOMAC scores of patients in both combined laser group and red light group reduced significantly compared to baseline by the end of the first course (P0.05). Neither the patients' global assessment nor the dropout rate showed statistical differences between two groups (P>0.05). There was no difference between two groups in patients correctly guessing the treatment assignment (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the reduction rate of WOMAC scores and the patients' global assessment between patients who guessed their assignment (P>0.05). Conclusion: Both combined laser and red light irradiation are beneficial to patients with knee OA. But as the statistical indifferences between two groups, the authors can't conclude from this study whether the combined laser is more effective.

RESUMO

Objective: To better understand the function of mast cells in acupuncture points (acupoints) inacupuncture-induced analgesia. The author tested their sensitivity to mechanical, thermo and light stimulation. Methods: The tail flick model was applied to measure analgesia in rats, and the author determined the density of mast cells in tissue slices and their degranulation ratio before/after acupuncture. The author also applied the patch-clamp technique to investigate activation of human mast cells (HMC 1 cell line) by mechanical stress or noxious heat, and the author optically observed degranulation phenomena of mast cell in response to red laser light. Results: Manual stimulation by acupuncture at Zusanli (ST 36) of the rat resulted in analgesia and the effect was more pronounced than after stimulation of a sham point nearby the acupuncture point. A higher density of mast cells was found at Zusanli (ST 36) than at the sham point, and acupuncture caused a remarkable increase in degranulation. Pretreatment with disodinm chromoglycate (DSCG, a mast cell stabilizer) injected into Zusanli (ST 36) impaired the analgesic effect of acupuncture. In whole-cell patch-clamp, increasing hydrostatic pressure induced a current that could be inhibited by 10 ~tM of ruthenium red (RuR), an inhibitor of TRPV2. Temperatures above 50~C, which are reached during moxibustion, induced a similar RuR-sensitive current. Laser light of 640 nm (48 mW) applied to acupoints had been shown previously to be highly effective in analgesia. 20 min of light application induced pronounced degranulation in HMC 1 that could be blocked by 0.02 g/mL DSCG as well as by RuR. Conclusion: The author found that mechanical stimulation of acupoints is associated with mast cell degranulation and mast-cell degranulation can be correlated with acupuncture-induced analgesia. The author suggest that TRPV2 plays a key role in mast-ceU degranulation in response to mechanical, thermal (moxibustion) as well as laser-light stimulation forming a facilitating step in acupuncture-induced analgesia.

RESUMO

Obiective:To establish a new and better model to investigate the properties of mast cells that couldbe involved in acupuncture process mechanisms. Methods:Connective tissue under the conum at the area of acupuncture point Zusanli(ST 36)from rat was acutely bluntly separated with forceps and scissors。And incubated in bath solution up to several hours.Mast cells in slices of that tissue were irradiated with laser light of 650 mn,and changes in the appearance were observed under mlcroscope. In addition.patch.clamp technique in whole-cell configuration was employed to induce mechano-sensitive currents by pressure applied through the patch pipette.Results:1)A high density of mast cells embedded in the extracellular matrix was detected in the tissue slices using toluidine blue staining. The mast cells survived for up to several hours;2)Laser irradiation for 10 min(40 mW) resulted in fusion of intracellular vesicles with the plasma membrane of the mast-cell surface;3)Whole.cell currents increased when pressure gradients of-30 cm,-60 cm or-90 cm H20 were applied, the response was attenuated in the presence of 1 0 u M Ruthenium Red(a common blocker of channels 0f the vallinoid.sensitive transient receptor potential family TRPV).Conclusion:The skin tissue slice of rat Zusanli(ST 36)may be used as a model to investigate the role of mast cells in acupuncture.t he results obtained in this model support the suggestion that skin mast cells play a role In laser as well as mechanical acupuncture and TRPV channels may be involved in acupuncture effects.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Infrared spectrum technology has potential and important value of application in diagnosing disease and analyzing pathology, as well as providing references for proper treatment. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the distinctive pathological information in the spectrums of infrared radiation at Neiguan (PC 6) acupoint of patients with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CAHD). DESIGN: Case-control study.SETFING: Longhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. PARTICIPANTS: The study was conducted from April 2003 to April 2005 in patients with CAHD from Out-Patient Clinic in Longhua Hospital (21 males and 29 females, averagely 58.1 years). Forty-seven healthy volunteers were all from advertisement (25 males and 22 females, averagely 50.6 years). All the subjects were voluntary. METHODS: PHE201, a high-sensitive infrared spectrum detective device (Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China) was applied to detect the spectrums of infrared radiation at Neiguan in 50 patients with CAHD and 47 healthy adults were selected as control for comparison. The scanning range was from 1.5μ m to 16μ m,73 detected wavelength spots were scanned at Neiguan of all the subjects, and the scanning spacing was 0.2μ m. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Intensity of infrared radiation at Neiguan between CAHD patients and normal controls at different wavelengths. RESULTS: The intensities of infrared radiation of CAHD patients were significantly different from that of the healthy volunteers at 32 spots of the right Neiguan as well as at 23 spots of the left Neiguan among the 73 detected wavelength spots(P < 0.05-0.001). At 2-2.5μ m wavelength spots that were related to the energy metabolism, the intensities of infrared radiation of CAHD patients were significantly lower than the healthy volunteers (P < 0.05-0.005). Concerning the difference in intensities of infrared radiation between the left and the right Neiguan, the CAHD patients had more wavelength spots than healthy volunteers did (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: ①Distinctive pathological information exists in the infrared spectrums at Neiguan in CAHD patients. ②CAHD patients have hypo-activities of energy metabolism and hypo-function ofqi and blood in the area of Neiguan.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of infrared laser stimulation on Neiguan (PC 6) for bradycardia of rabbits induced by injection of pituitrin. METHODS: 10.6 microm CO(2) infrared laser, 650 nm semiconductor red laser and the compound laser of their aggregation were sent out by a compound laser sanatory instrument to stimulate Neiguan (PC 6) respectively for the purpose of analyzing the differences of the effects exerted by infrared laser and red laser as well as the changes of the effects after their aggregation. RESULTS: After 30 min and 40 min of the injection of pituitrin, the heart rate showed no significant difference between 10.6 microm CO(2) infrared laser group and the normal control group (P>0.05). However, the heart rate showed significant difference between the 650 nm semiconductor red laser group and the normal control group (P0.05). However, the heart rate of non-acupoint stimulated by the compound laser group showed no significant difference to that of the untreated group (P>0.05), and it was significantly different to that of the normal control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Stimulation on Neiguan with 10.6 microm CO(2) infrared laser can evidently improve the bradycardia induced by injection of pituitrin, while the 650 nm semiconductor red laser has no such function, but they have coordinating effect. The thermal effect produced by CO(2) infrared laser stimulating acupoint is probably beneficial for semiconductor laser penetrating skin as well as the biochemical reactions it carries. The improvement of heart rate produced by the laser stimulation on Neiguan (PC 6) has relative specificity.

RESUMO

In this experiment the data of the infrared radiation spectrum of acupoints in human body were obtained through an ingenious device. In thirty-one healthy volunteer subjects and thirty-one patients suffering from coronary heart disease, we detected the infrared radiation spectra from some acupoints and compared them with those of the healthy subjects. The curves of patients showed more differences. After analyzing the data, we noted statistically significant differences in some fields between the healthy subjects and the patients. And after reducing the data, we observed significant differences in larger fields. So utilization of reduced data from patients for analysis is our choice.

RESUMO

Edema is a common pathological symptom, but its development mechanism is unknown. Based on the bearings of pressure upon interstitium structure and substantial exchange between plasma and interstitial fluid, a dymamics model describing the development of edema was set up. The model's theoretical results showed that the variations of interstitium pressure and structure due to imbalance of substantial exchange may lead to the development of edema, which is in accordance with recent clinical researches. Discussions on the dynamic mechanism of the development of edema proposed that the best way to prevent edema is instituting treatment before the interstitial structure being destroyed.

RESUMO

Manipulations are essential to the acupuncture curative effect. With the technique limited, the researches on acupuncture manipulations can only be carried out with respect to the senses and experience of doctors and patients, thus seriously impeding the modernization and internationalization of acupuncture. Both the modern integration technology of transducer and the biomechanical principles are applied to develop a detection system that can measure the interaction force between the manipulator and the manipulated patient on the needle at each kind of manipulation. Through clinical practice, the force waveforms acting on needle with the manipulations of symmetrical twirling-rotating and symmetrical lifting-inserting were recorded so as to realize the quantitative, objective and real-time detection of the force during the acupuncture process, which provided a new experimentation means and analysis method for the improvement of clinical curative effect and quantitative research of acupuncture and meridians.

RESUMO

As the transportation of O2 and CO2 inside human body is an integrated aspect of Qi-blood transportation, a hemodynamic model is established based on the analysis of the respiratory and circulation system. The results of such model show that the abnormality of the circulatory and respiratory parameters always lead to a reduction of Po2 (O2 pressure) in tissue fluid, and then a Lung Qi-Deficiency Syndrome (QDS). This model can be used to quantitatively explain, to some extent, the physiological phenomena of Lung QDS, and could combine all the discoveries of in clinical researches, on Lung QDS. The measurement of Po2 in tissue fluid as an index to analyze Lung QDS is in accordance with TCM and TMM (the theory of modern medicine). This model may provide a new approach in clinical research of Lung QDS.

RESUMO

Cardiac deficiency of qi(vital energy) is one of the main syndromes in terms of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). Based on our analysis of blood-tissue fluid circulation, we set up a hemodynamics model describing cardiac deficiency of qi. The model's theoretical results can reflect the manifestations of cardiac deficiency of qi, and are identical to those of clinical experimental discoveries, therefore it has substantiated our theory-cell's abnormal physiological function caused by undernourishment of tissue fluid is the reason of qi-deficiency.
