RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To study the impact of aconitine and Shuang-huang-lian injection on the expression of myocardial ryanodine receptor (RyR2) and to discuss the anti-arrhythmic mechanisms of Shuanghuanglian against aconitine poisoning.
@*METHODS@#A total of 52 SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: aconitine group (group A, n=20), Shuang-huang-lian group (group B, n=20) and control group (group C, n=12). Aconitine at a dose of 0.3 mg/kg was firstly administrated to the rats of group A and group B through gavage. 30 minutes later, normal saline was delivered to rats in group A through intraperitoneal injection, while rats in group B received Shuang-huang-lian at a dose of 100 mg/kg through intraperitoneal injection. Group C accepted twice administration of normal saline by gavage and intraperitoneal injection. The disposals for each group were implemented for 10 consecutive days. The rats' electrocardiograms (ECG) were recorded on day 1, 3, 6 and 10. Immunofluorescent staining technique and real-time quantitative PCR technique was used to detect the protein and mRNA expression of myocardial RyR2.
@*RESULTS@#The arrhythmia scores of group B at different time were lower than group A and the difference was statistically significant (P0.05). On day 3, 6 and 10, the expression of RyR2 protein and mRNA in group A was dramatically increased compared to group B and group C (P<0.01).
@*CONCLUSION@#Shuang-huang-lian injection can effectively prevent the arrhythmia caused by aconitine, which is related to suppressing the aconitine-induced RyR2 expression.

RESUMO

To investigate the effects of Chaihu Shugan San (CHSGS), a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine, on behavior and plasma levels of corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) of rats with chronic mild unpredicted stress depression.

RESUMO

Objective To study the effect of Rhubarb as a supplemental emergency treatment for acute omethoate Poisoning (AOMP). Methods 80 male SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: slight intoxication group, severe intosieation group, therapeutial group of Rhubarb after severe intoxication and normal control group. The intoxication experimental model (one slight group, two severe groups) were made by intragastrically given at different dose of Omethoate. The severe group was received Rhubarb treatment. Results The rats action in Rhubarb treated group was significantly better than that in control group, and the level of cholinesterase (ChE) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in serum st different time were significantly higher than those in other two intoxication groups. (P<0. 05 or P <0.01).Conclusions Rhubarb might be good for AOMP as a supple mental emergency therapy.

RESUMO

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate changes in renal function, urine N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminidase enzyme (N-AG),liver function, myocardial enzymes, the pathology of renal damage and the mechanism of acute renal failure (ARF) associated with fish gall bladder poisoning.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Eleven patients with acute fish gall bladder poisoning were consecutively admitted to our hospital from September 1997 to October 1999. Renal function, urine N-AG enzyme, liver function, and myocardial enzymes were assayed before and after treatment. One patient consented to a kidney biopsy and the pathology of renal damage was observed under light and electron microscopes.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>All patients had multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) and 11 patients suffered from ARF. Ten patients had liver dysfunction, ten patients had poisonous myocarditis, and 8 patients had gastrointestinal dysfunction. Renal function, urine N-AG enzyme, liver function, and myocardial enzymes were significantly improved after treatment compared with those of before treatment (P < 0.05). Kidney biopsy showed that the main damage site was the proximal renal tubule. All eleven patients recovered and were discharged from the hospital.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Ingestion of fish gall bladder leads to kidney damage, as well as liver, heart and gastrointestinal tract injury. The mechanism of acute renal function failure is the serious tubular damage, confirming the location of kidney damage. Necrosis of the proximal tubules plays an important role in the development of ARF. Immediate hemodialysis is the most effective treatment.</p>
