RESUMO

@#Abstract: Objective To analyze the characteristics of bloodstream infection of Listeria monocytogenes and provide basis for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the cases of Listeria monomyrhosi bloodstream infection in Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) from April 2012 to April 2022. The age, sex, onset time, underlying disease, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the patients were analyzed, as well as the changes of white blood cells (WBC), neutrophils, lymphocytes, and C-reactive protein (CRP) before and after anti-infection treatment. Results Fifty cases of Listeria monocytogenes bloodstream infection confirmed by blood culture were involved. The age of patients ranged from 0 to 82 (43.7±20.0) years old, among whom 20.0% were over 60 years old. The onset time of patients was the highest in spring (44.0%), followed by winter (24.0%), and relatively fewer in summer and autumn (14.0%-18.0%). The median diagnosis time was 3 days (1-60 days). After the etiological diagnosis, 45 patients (90.0%) had underlying diseases or pregnancy status, and 45 patients were adjusted to the target antibacterial treatment mainly with carbapenems (48.9%) and penicillins (44.4%). The level of WBC, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, and CRP after treatment were significantly lower than those pre-treatments (P<0.05). Among all patients, 36 cases (72.0%) were treated according to the Antimicrobial Treatment Guidelines for Fever Sanford, of which 26 cases (72.2%) were discharged from the hospital, two cases died, one case was transferred to other hospitals, and 7 cases had a poor prognosis. Conclusions Autoimmune diseases, tumor diseases, pregnant patients are susceptible to Listeria monocytogenes infection. Penicillins are the first choice for effective empiric therapy. For the patients allergic to penicillins, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole or meropenem could be used.

RESUMO

ABSTRACT Olfactory receptors are essential for recognition and detection of odor in honeybees. Although we have cloned and characterized the sequence of olfactory receptor AcerOr1 before, the tissue distribution and location of this gene in the nurse and the forager worker Apis cerana cerana were not very clear. To further investigate this information of AcerOr1 gene, we analyzed its expression and localization. The results showed that AcerOr1 mRNA was predominantly expressed in the antennae of nurse and forager bees, while the AcerOr1 protein was predominant in thorax, and its expression in antennae was higher in forager than in nurse. IHC revealed that AcerOr1 mainly localized in the olfactory neurons of the antennae. In addition, the staining intensity of AcerOr1 protein by IHC was consistent with the results of qRT- PCR and western blotting. The expression of AcerOr1 in non-olfactory tissues implied that, in addition to olfaction, it may involve in other physiological processes. The localization of AcerOr1 in antennae further suggests that it is involved in the olfactory system. Our research suggest that AcerOr1 may participated in perceive pheromone and odours of floral in nurse and forager bees, and also critical for the behavior of collecting, defending, cleaning between the nurse and the forager worker bees.

RESUMO

Objective To explore the relationship between self efficacy and fall efficacy in patients with stroke. Methods The falls efficacy scale-international (FES-I) and the stroke self-efficacy questionnaire(SSEQ) were applied to 300 patients with stroke. Results The FES-I score of the participants was 39.13± 16.40,the scores of the indoor activity dimension and outdoor activity dimension were (26.01 ± 11.13) and (18.33 ± 7.76),respectively.The total mean score of SSEQ was (40.11 ± 22.37),the scores of the activity function dimension and self-management dimension were (24.97± 14.40)and (15.14±8.35),respectively.FES-I scores were positively correlated with SSEQ scores (r=0.550-0.802,P<0.05).Falls efficacy could explain 34.3% and 36.8% variation amount for each dimension of self-efficacy in patients with stroke. Conclusion Falls efficacy is closely related to self-efficacy in patients with stroke. In order to improve the quality of medical care, medical staff should pay attention to the occurrences of reduction of self-efficacy and selfesteem in patients with stroke when they avoid falling during some activities.
