O tratamento da região anterior de ambos os maxilares envolve situações clínicas complexas, tornando difícil um resultado bem-sucedido, embora todos os parâmetros para diagnóstico e plano de tratamento sejam respeitados e realizados. Mesmo após o enxerto ósseo e o condicionamento do tecido mole serem feitos na cirurgia do segundo estágio, algumas vezes, os mesmos não são suficientes e um dispositivo protético com a gengiva artificial deve ser utilizado

El desarrollo de las restauraciones ceramo-metálicas y/o cerámicas libres de metal ha modificado y perfeccionado estética yfuncionalmente a la prótesis fija. Este tipo de restauraciones han sido plenamente aceptadas por los pacientes. Sin embargo, enciertas ocasiones se convierten en un problema para el odontólogo ya que los pacientes se han acostumbrado a esperar y exigirresultados óptimos y muchas veces la perfección buscada se convierte en un acontecimiento frustrante. La óptima elección delcolor dental constituye una de las principales causantes (Schãrer et al, 1991).
The development of metal-ceramic and metal-free restorations has changed and improved fixed prosthesis from both the estheticand functional point of view.These kinds of restaurations have been well accepted by patients, however, in certain situations it became a problem for thepracticioner since patients are accustomed to receive and demand favourable results but sometimes those expectations turnedinto a frustrating experience. An effective color election constitute one of the main cause.
