RESUMO

Objective To explore the epidemiological characteristics of pulmonary infection in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and to construct a risk prediction model. Methods Among of 125 elderly patients with COPD from May 2020 to June 2022 were selected as the research subjects. The epidemiological characteristics of infected patients were counted, and the risk factors of pulmonary infection in patients were analyzed and a prediction model was constructed. Results A total of the 125 elderly patients with COPD, there were 46 cases of pulmonary infection, with the infection rate of 36.80%. The detection rate of Gram-negative bacteria was higher than that of Gram-positive bacteria or fungi (64.44% vs 33.33% or 2.22%, P2=0.812 and P=0.295. ROC curve analysis revealed that the AUC value of the prediction model on predicting the pulmonary infection in elderly patients with COPD was 0.802. Conclusion The pathogenic bacteria of elderly patients with COPD complicated with pulmonary infection are mainly Gram-negative bacteria. The prediction model constructed according to the risk factors of pulmonary infection in patients has predictive value on pulmonary infection in patients.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the species diversity and distribution of medical mollusca in Shanghai City. Methods From August 2012 to October 2013,all kinds of habitats in 8 districts and counties in Shanghai City, namely Jiading,Qingpu, Baoshan,Minhang,Songjiang,Jinshan,Chongming,Pudong, were selected for the field survey according to the distribution characteristics of the river system, and all the specimens of medical mollusca in the investigation sites were collected and classi?fied by morphological identification. Meanwhile, the species composition, habitats as well as the fauna of the medical mollusca collected were analyzed. Results A total of 5 211 specimens were collected, which belonged to 2 classes,14 families,18 gen?era and 25 species, including Oncomelania hupensis hupensis,Pomacea canaliculata,Parafossarulus striatulus,Alocinma longicornis,Physa acuta,Galba pervia,Hippeutis cantori, etc. The species numbers of medical mollusca in Chongming,Jin?shan,Pudong new area and Qingpu districts(counties)were 22,22,21 and 20,respectively,which were more than those of other areas. The habitat analysis suggested that the species numbers in the river and wetland were the most, both of which were 14 species. The main faunas of the medical mollusca in Shanghai were the cosmopolitan and oriental species. Conclusions The freshwater gastropod species are paucity in Shanghai City, but almost of them can be served as the intermediate hosts of certain parasites to transmit snail?related parasitic diseases,so the surveillance of medical mollusca should be strengthened.

RESUMO

Objective To compare the diversity of mitochondrial genomes of Angiostrongylus cantonensis in the mainland of China. Methods According to the population genetic of A. cantonensis, seven female worms were selected to characterize the mi-tochondrial(MT)genomes. Twelve primer pairs based on known MT genome(GQ398121)were used for PCR. The target frag-ments were sequenced and aligned. The gene localization, genome structure, composition of nucleotide, distribution of variable sites, and phylogeny were analyzed by employing multiple softwares. Results Five distinct types were identified from seven com-plete MT genomes. They were similar in size and structure,i.e.,ranging 13 491-13 502 bp,including 12 protein-coding genes,2 ribosomal genes,22 tRNA genes, and 2 major non-coding regions. All the genes were localized at the same strand and had the same transcription direction. A total of 745 variable sites were identified, accounting for 5.5%. Among the variable sites,59 were deletion/insert mutations,105 transversions, and 581 transitions. The variable sites distributed evenly at the complete genome. Conclusion The study reveals the mutation profile in the whole MT genome of A. cantonensis and thus will facilitate the develop-ment of intraspecific differential diagnosis.

RESUMO

AIM:To study the effects of citicoline in treating neuroleptic-induced extrapyramidal side effect (EPS). METHODS:Seventy-five patients were divided into two groups:citicoline group of 38 patients ( M25,F13;age 28 a±s 9 a) received citicoline injection 0.5 g.d-1,in 5 % glucose injection 500 mL,iv,drip,qd ,for 14 d and control group of 37 patients ( M23,F14;age 27 a±6 a) received 5 % glucose injection 500 mL,iv, drip, qd,for 14 d. RESULTS: The total efficacy of citicoline or control group was 92 % and 11 % (P<0.05 ), respectively. The tremour, muscular rigidity, gait and muscle dystonia were better in citicoline group than in control group. No side effects were found. CONCLUSION: Citicoline is effective for neuroleptic-induced EPS.

RESUMO

[Objective] To answer the following questions:① For Oncomelania snails collected two years apart from the same locality, has there been genetic divergence?②How much experimental error has there been in studying subsets of these populations? ③As this is an unstable population, what has the net effect been on Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium(Hwe)?[Methods] Allozymes were studied using horizontal starch gel electrophoresis.Data collected from numbers of experiments were conapiled.Data from each collection were divided into two equal subsets based on chronology of the experiments.Thirty-four loci were studied using 72 to 180 snails per subset.[Results] The mean number of alleles per locus ranged frcra 1.5~1.9.With each consecutive subset, the 96 polymorphic loci dropped from 38.2 to 17.6.The mean heterozygosity was very low:0.033 to 0.049 and not significantly different from Hardy-Weinberg expectations.Ten loci and 11 alleles exclusive to the first group were eliminated from the overall study reducing the number of polymorphic loci from 19 to 10.There were significant departures from Hwe at five loci having a substantial number of individuals for each allele.Nei's and Wright's D were 0.003±0.001 and 0.054±0.006 respectively.[Conclusion] ①There were significant errors seen primarily in the results scored' in the earliest experiments.②These earlier errors involving scoring difficult to resolve loci, and interpretation of rare alleles that were not found in later experiment had no significant effect on overall genetic distance.③The use of Wright's D for closely related populations is explained. Results with Nei's D indicated no significant difference among the four subunits; Wright's D yielded significant difference between the collections made two years apart, attributed to the annual flooding of the Yangtze River mixing snails from different localities.④ Major polymorphic loci were not in Hwe as predicted using the unstable population model.⑤One must study 25 or more individuals to find relatively rate alleles and study population genetics.
