RESUMO

The current clinical evidence and underlying mechanisms of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) were summarized, so as to better optimize clinical treatment. The relevant articles of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of IBS in recent years were retrieved and summarized. We found that the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of IBS was relatively reliable. However, the mutual relationships among various mechanisms of action such as abnormal gastrointestinal motility, high visceral sensitivity, intestinal microenvironment disorders, and abnormal intestinal-brain interactions need to be further explored. The authors believe that in-depth explorations of the bidirectional regulation of "gut-brain axis", the law of changes in the abundance and diversity of intestinal flora, and the establishment of a more ideal animal model of TCM syndrome differentiation are useful ideas for subsequent research.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo study the relationship between microalbuminuria and cognitive impairment in primary hypertensive patients.

METHODSA total of 200 hypertensive patients were included in this study. Blood pressure, body height and weight, total cholesterol, triglyceride, fasting plasma glucose, 2 hour-postprandial blood sugar, insulin level and urine protein were measured. Microalbuminuria and urine creatinine were determined in patients without proteinuria. The risk stratification of hypertension was evaluated. The cognitive function and calculate scores were tested by the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) and patients were divided into two groups: > 24-scores were classified as normal cognition group, < or = 24-scores as impaired cognition group.

RESULTSAmong the 200 hypertensive patients, proteinuria was detected in 25 patients. There was no significant difference in the cognitive function between patients with and without proteinuria (P > 0.05). There were significant differences on age, educational level, occupation, smoking, history of coronary heart disease, history of cerebrovascular disease, the risk stratification of hypertension, microalbuminuria/creatinine ratio, postprandial insulin level, cholesterol and diastolic blood pressure between normal cognition function group and impaired cognition function group (all P < 0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that microalbuminuria, educational level and the risk stratification of hypertension were significantly correlated to cognition impairment (all P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONSEducational level, the risk stratification of hypertension and microalbuminuria are associated with cognitive impairment in this patient cohort.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo study the characteristics of thyroglossal tract cyst epidemiology and summarize how to improve the operation therapeutic effect.

METHODSThe clinic appearance, the pathological characteristics and the therapeutic effect of the 60 thyroglossal tract cyst cases were analyzed.

RESULTSThyroglossal tract cyst mostly occurred in children and teenagers. The incidence of female patients was more than that of male patients. Most of thyroglossal tract cyst located in the middle line of the neck and were explored tubular-objects and fibroropes. The histopathological feature was variform.

CONCLUSIONThe clinical appearance and pathology characteristic of thyroglossal tract cyst are variform. Thyroglossal tract cyst may be recurred easily if it is not operated well.
