RESUMO
Introducción: desde las últimas décadas del siglo pasado ha tenido lugar en el mundo la emergencia y reemergencia de eventos epidemiológicos, entre ellos el incremento de la tuberculosis.Objetivo: describir el resultado de los indicadores del Programa de Control en el municipio San Miguel del Padrón, durante el período 2004-2008. Métodos: la información se obtuvo de los reportes mensuales de tuberculosis del Departamento Estadístico de la Unidad Higiene y Epidemiología y las encuestas epidemiológicas. El universo lo constituyeron los 77 casos diagnosticados con la enfermedad durante ese período. Resultados: solo se cumplió al 95,9 por ciento la toma de las primeras muestras y al 75,1 por ciento la toma de las segundas muestras, los cultivos de las primeras muestras solo se cumplió al 21,4 por ciento, parámetros estos de diagnóstico que miden la calidad de este programa.Conclusiones: la tasa de incidencia se mantuvo con un comportamiento irregular, hallándose los parámetros más afectados en los Policlínicos Luís Carbo y Reinaldo Pi, y repercutiendo a nivel municipal en los indicadores seleccionados
Introduction: from the last decades of the last century the emergence and reemergence of epidemiological events have taken place in the world, including the increase of tuberculosis among them.Objective: to describe the outcome indicators of the Control Program in the municipality of San Miguel del Padrón, during the period 2004-2008.Methods: information was obtained from the monthly reports of tuberculosis of the Statistical Department of the Hygiene and Epidemiology Unit and the epidemiological surveys. The universe was composed of 77 diagnosed cases with the disease during that period.Results: the taking of the first samples reached only 95.9 per cent and 75.1 per cent the taking of the second samples, cultures of the first samples reached only 21.4 per cent, diagnostic parameters that measure the quality of this program.Conclusions: the incidence rate was maintained with an irregular behavior, being the most affected parameters in polyclinics Luís Carbo y Reinaldo Pi and impacting the municipal level in the selected indicators
