RESUMO
The monoclonal antibodies are immunoglobuliuns having the same isotypic. allotypic and idiotypic characteristics They are specific for one antigenic determinant. By fusion of immunocompetent B lymphocyte with a myelomatous cell, Koehler and Milstein managed to immortalise a hybrid cell able to produce the monoclonal antibodies By their elevated specificity and perfect reproducibility, Monoclonal antibodies present a precious instrument for medicine and fundamental research. We present in this review a survey of obtention and utilisations of these antibodies
