RESUMO
Para Alexander, as doenças psicossomáticas constituem uma resposta fisiológica a uma tensão emocional excessiva. Para Marty, esta tensão se descarrega no corpo, no caso de uma carência ou de uma ultrapassagem das capacidades pré-conscientes de representação. Segundo esses autores, não se pode aplicar aqui o modelo da conversão histérica. Através de atalhos simplificadores e interpretações selvagens, o desvio do "psicossomatismo" ignora esta diferença fundamental e atribui ao sintoma psicossomático um sentido metafórico, cultivando um pensamento mágico no qual tudo se explica pelo psíquico. Se a doença psicossomática não parece ter um sentido simbólico, seu aparecimento poderia, no entanto, não ser fruto do acaso, pois ela poderia assinalar o transbordamento do psiquismo em função das vicissitudes precoces e mais recentes do seu desenvolvimento. O trabalho de reinscrição da doença na história psíquica do indivíduo pode então dar um sentido "secundário" que, nem por isso, revela o mistério das origens da lesão orgânica.
According to Alexander, the psychosomatic disease is a psysiological response to excessive emotional tension. According to Marty, this tension discharges into the body in case of inadequacy or overflowing of the preconscious capacities of symbolization. According to him, the model of the hysterical conversion can't be applied to it. Proceeding to simplifications and inopportune interpretations, the "psychosomatism" is a deviation that leaves this fundamental difference out of accout, that gives a metaphoric sense to the psychosomatic symptom and that cultivates a magical thinking explaining everything by psychic considerations. Nevertheless, even if the psychosomatic disease hasn't any symbolic sense, it might not happen by chance: it could be in relation with the overflowing of the psyche through the early and less distant vicissitudes of its development. Ever since, the psychotherapeutic clarification of the inscription of the disease in the psychic history of the subject can produce a "secundary" sense, that doesn't remove the mystery of the origins of the organic lesion.
