RESUMO

BACKGROUND:Hydroxyapatite (HA) is a good scaffold material, and recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2) possesses a strong osteogenic ability, therefore, by which preparing a novel composite material wil be helpful for bone repair. OBJECTIVE:To explore the effects of the hol ow HA/rhBMP-2 microspheres on the osteogenesis and biomechanics of rabbit bone defects. METHODS:Forty-eight male healthy adult New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into three groups (n=16 per group), including composite, single and control groups. Radical defect models were prepared, and the hol ow HA/rhBMP-2 and hol ow HA scaffolds were implanted into the composite and single groups, respectively. The control group received no treatment. At the 1st day of 4, 8, 12, and 16 weeks after implantation, the level of serum alkaline phosphatase was detected, and the bone healing was assessed through X-ray, three-dimensional CT, radionuclide bone scan and biomechanics testing, respectively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The level of serum alkaline phosphatase, X-ray scale scores, osteogetic effect, region of interest volume, three-dimensional CT and biomechanical strength in the composite group were superior to those in the single group. In the meanwhile, the bone healing was unsatisfactory in the control group. Our findings indicate that the hol ow HA/rhBMP-2 artificial bone exhibits a good osteogenic ability and mechanical strength, contributing to bone healing.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effects of over physiological dose of dexamethasone on cervical carcinoma cell xenografted tumors in nude mouse. Methods HeLa cells were inoculated subcutaneously in BALB/c female mice aged 5-6 weeks.Over physiological dose of dexamethasone(62.5 mg?kg-1?d-1) was injected into the peritoneum from the 16th day after inoculation for 10 d.Diameters of tumor were measured every two or three days. The volumes and the inhibition rates of tumor were calculated.Apoptotic bodies were observed by transmission electron microscopy and counted by TUNEL.VEGF and TNF-? were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results In vivo, over physiological dose of dexamethasone can repress the growth of tumor and induce cell apoptosis.Compared with the control group, the tumor sizes were significantly smaller(P0.05).Conclusion Over physiological dose of dexamethasone can repress cervical tumor growth in vivo. This action may be related to apoptosis and VEGF,but have no relationship with TNF-?.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effects of dexamethasone on the growth of cervical cancer induced by HeLa cells transplanted into BALB/c mice. Methods HeLa cells were inoculated subcutaneously into BALB/c mice. Dexamethasone (15 mg?kg-1?d-1) was injected intraperitoneally from the 6th or the 16th day after tumor inoculation for 10 days continuously. Diameter of tumors was measured every two or three days. Apoptotic bodies were observed by transmission electron microscopy and counted by TUNEL. Results Dexamethasone repressed the growth of cervical cancer and induced tumor cell apoptosis, but the tumor volumes were of statistical difference between the two groups of different injection start time (P

RESUMO

Objective To study the value of CT and barium radiograpy in diagnosis of gastric schwannoma. Methods A retrospectiveanalysis was made on imaging of 8 patients with pathologically approved gastric schwannoma.Plain abdominal CT scan was performed in all patients, additional enhanced CT scan was carried out in 6 cases and barium radiography of upper digestive tract was carried out in 5 cases. Results The lesions localized in fundus ventriculi in 2 cases, curvatura ventriculi minor in 4 cases and pars pylorica in 2 cases. Three main types were seen: localized mass type (n=4), localized thickening of gastric paries type (n=2) and huge mass type (n=2).Conclusion In comparison with barium radiography of upper digestive tract, CT can accurately demonstrate the shape, the location and internal structure of lesions.Three main patterns of this lesion also can be showed clearly by CT scans and suggestive diagnosis can be made in some patients combined with barium radiography of upper digestive tract images.

RESUMO

This paper reports various cases of cerebral concussion which strongly supportthat cerebral concussion may be regarded as a graded phenomenon with practicalvalue for clinic forensic medicine. The diagnosis, neuropathological changes of the central nevous system, typing ofconcussion are discussed in this paper. The pathological changes of the brain hase been analysed.
