RESUMO

Depression is a common psychiatric symptom in cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD), which has a certain relationship with impairment of cognitive function and can significantly increase the mortality and morbidity of CSVD patients. The occurrence of CVSD-associated depression is less related to psychological stress, but is associated with the impairment of the brain's emotional circuit. This article reviewed the correlation between the imaging features of CVSD and the occurrence and development of depression in recent years, and the neuroimaging mechanism of depression associated with CVSD. Many literatures have shown that deep white matter hyperintensities and asymptomatic lacunar infarction in the basal ganglia are independent risk factors for depression in CSVD, and the reduction of local brain volume is associated with depression. The neuroimaging mechanism of depression associated with CSVD suggests that the occurrence of depressive symptoms is related to the neural circuits in the lobar cortex-subcortical limbic area. These findings provide clues for exploring the neuropathological mechanisms and specific treatment methods of depression associated with CVSD.

RESUMO

Previous studies have found that intravenous dexamethasone may produce perineal pruritus in some patients when administered as premedicant in the preoperative period. This randomized controlled, double-blind study evaluated the efficacy of pretreatment of lidocaine on the incidence and severity of dexamethasone-induced perineal pruritus. 400 patients were enrolled in this study and allocated randomly into four groups [n=100, in each]. Then, patients received intravenously anesthesia induction as the following sequence of medications: injecting 0.9% sodium chloride [placebo] 10 mL in group I, lidocaine 0.5mg/kg in group II, lidocaine 1mg/kg in group III, and lidocaine 1.5mg/kg in group IV, 1 minute later, injecting 10mg dexamethasone in all groups. The severity of perineal pruritus was graded based on the VAS as none [VAS 0], mild [VAS 1-3], moderate [4-6], or severe [VAS 7 to 10], and recorded the occurrence, the severity and the duration of perineal pruritus. Occurrence of perineal pruritus was significantly reduced in group III and group IV [8%, 9% vs 40% and 33% in Groups I and II, respectively, p<0.05]. The incidence of perineal pruritus of females was higher than males in groups I and II [P<0.05]. The duration of perineal pruritus was shorter in group IV compared to groups I, II and III [p<0.05]. We conclude that pretreatment 1mg/kg or 1.5mg/kg lidocaine may effectively reduce the incidence of perineal pruritus

RESUMO

Objective:To compare the effects of distal movement of canines between elastic traction and canine lace back in the aligning stage of preadjusted appliance. Methods:50 cases with Angle I malocclusion were divided into two groups after first premolar extraction. Patients in both groups were treated by the same kind of preadjusted appliance in the aligning stage. Canine lace back was used in one group and elastic traction in another.Treatment was countinued for 12 weeks.Measurements of the dental models and the cephalograms were conducted before and after treatment. Results:Compared to the canine lace back, the decrease of the width between the cuspids of upper premolars and that between that of lower molars, the increase of the angle of the distally tipped canines and the mesially tipped lower molars and the lingually tipped incisors, the higher speed and larger distance of distal moving canines were achieved more easy with elastic traction. On the contrary, the larger distance of mesial moving molars were attained with canine lace back. The differences of all the measurements above between the two methods were significant(P

RESUMO

objective: To evaluate the effects of multiloop edgewise archwire(MEAW) therapy in the treatment of open bite. Methods: 20 cases of open bite (male 7 ,female 13 ,aged 13~25 yrs old) were treated by MEAW technique.The effects were evaluated by cephalometry. Results: After treatment ANB *, U1 SN *, L1 MP ** , U 6 SN *, U6 PP(mm) *, L6 MP * and L6 MP(mm) * decreased, L1 MP(mm) ** , U1 L1 ** and OB(mm) ** increased( * P
