RESUMO

The pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has had a serious impact on global health. COVID-19 vaccines may be one of the most effective measure to end the pandemic. High infection risk and higher serious incident and mortality rates have been shown in cancer patients with COVID-19. Therefore, cancer patients should be the priority group for COVID-19 prevention. Until now, data of COVID-19 vaccination for cancer patients is lacking. We review the interim data of safety and immune-efficacy of COVID-19 vaccination in cancer patients based on the latest studies. Due to the complicated immune systems of cancer patients caused by the malignancy and anticancer treatments, we proposed preliminary specific COVID-19 vaccination recommendations for cancer patients with different anticancer treatments and at different stages of the disease. Preventing COVID-19 with vaccinations for cancer patients is crucial, and we call for more large-scale clinical trials and real-world studies, for further COVID-19 vaccination recommendations development.

RESUMO

Objective To analyze the effect of duloxetine on S100B and signal pathway ERK1/2-NF-κB expression in hippocampus in depression rat. Methods Chronic unpredictable mild stimulation was used to establish depressive model rats (n=50).They were randomly divided into no-intervention group (n=10),different treatment time of duloxetine group (C,D,E,F group,10 rats in each group)and then 10 normal rats were selected as control group.Behavior tests including open-field test and the saccharine preference test were used to test the behavioral change of rats after 28 days intragastric administration.Western blot was used to detect S100B,t-ERK1/2,pERK 1/2,t-NF-κB and pNF-κB expression in hippocampus. Results In open-field test, the crossing score, rearing score and latency of the rats in E,F group were (69.68± 14.61) and (70.66± 11.53) score,(20.94 ± 10.92) and (20.32±8.85) score,(1.1±0.4)s and(1.0±0.4) s respectively, and showed no significant difference with those of control group ((71.19±12.08) score,(20.42±8.76) score,(1.0±0.3)s) after 28 d intragastric administration (P>0.05),while the level score, vertical score were significantly higher than those in depressive model (P< 0.05).In the saccharine preference test, the rats in E,F and control group exhibited increased saccharin preference compared with depressive model rats (P<0.05).The rats in E,F and control group exhibited increased S100B,pERK1/2 and pNF-κB expression in hippocampus compared with depressive model rats (P<0.05).Conclusion Duloxetine improves the behavioral ability of depression rat and exerts effect after 2 weeks. The ERK1/2-NF-κB signal pathway in hippocampus may participate in this mechanism.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the clinical features of pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP) in patients with chronic kidney disease. Methods Clinial data of 21 cases of the primary and secondary kidney diseases complicated with PCP,excluding renal transplantation, were analyzed retrospectively. Results Twenty-one cases consisted of 6 cases of primary renal diseases and 15 eases of secondary renal diseases.Twenty patients (95.2%) were receiving immunesuppressive therapy at the PCP onset.Main manifestations were fever, progressive dyspnea, cough with no or seldom sputum.Twenty patients presented obvious hypoxemia and 12 of them were type I respiratory failure.X-ray and CT imaging of 20 patients revealed diffuse pulmonary interstitial shadows or ground glass opacities in both lungs. All the patients were treaed with trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole.Eleven patients died accounting for 52.3%.Compared with the survivors, elder age (60.91±15.08 vs 44.50±14.83,P<0.05),lower blood oxygen pressure at onset [(48.11±19.05)mm Hg vs (65.91±13.13)mm Hg,P<0.01],higher percentage of respirator application and other secondary lung infection were found in dead patients. No PCP relapsed after average 16-month follow-up in the survival patients. Conclusions PCP is a severe complication with high mortality during immunosuppressive therapy in patients with chronic renal disease.Early diagnosis and proper treatment are important to improve prognosis.

RESUMO

Capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) was used to monitor the whole unfolding process of bovine insulin resulted from the dithiothreitol (DTT) reduction. An off-line matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) was employed to determine the molecular weight of the reaction products at the same time to confirm the observation results obtained by CZE. The structural change during the process of bovine insulin unfolding could be observed directly from the electropherogram and information of protein unfolding could be obtained simultaneously. The results indicated that as an effective tool of monitoring the conformational change of protein, the method of CZE was simple, quick, sensitive and lower sample consumption.
