RESUMO

Hypothyroidism alone can lead to myocardial fibrosis and result in heart failure, but traditional hormone replacement therapy does not improve the fibrotic situation. Hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S), a new gas signaling molecule, possesses antiinflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-fibrotic capabilities. Whether H 2 S could improve hypothyroidism-induced myocardial fibrosis are not yet studied. In our study, H 2 S could decrease collagen deposition in the myocardial tissue of rats caused by hypothyroidism. Furthermore, in hypothyroidism-induced rats, we found that H 2 S could enhance cystathionine-gamma-lyase (CSE), not cystathionine β-synthase (CBS), protein expressions. Finally, we noticed that H 2 S could elevate autophagy levels and inhibit the transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) signal transduction pathway. In conclusion, our experiments not only suggest that H 2 S could alleviate hypothyroidism-induced myocardial fibrosis by activating autophagy and suppressing TGF-β1/ SMAD family member 2 (Smad 2) signal transduction pathway, but also show that it can be used as a complementary treatment to conventional hormone therapy.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the efficacy of sulforubicin combined with olanzapine in the treatment of adolescents with schizophrenia and to observe its effect on cognitive function.MethodsFrom August 2013 to August 2016, 124 adolescents diagnosed with schizophrenia were randomly divided into control group and observation group, each of 62 cases. The control group was given olanzapine treatment, the observation group was given olanzapine combined with amisulpride treatment.Positive and negative symptom scale (PANSS), Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) and Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS) were used to evaluate the patient and clinical symptoms and cognitive function after 8 weeks of treatment The clinical effect and adverse changes of two groups were compared.ResultsThe PANSS score, WCST score and WMS score of the two groups were not statistically significant. After 8 weeks of treatment, the PANSS score, WCST score and WMS score of the two groups were significantly higher than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the improvement of the above scores in observation group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05).The total effective rate was 93.55% in the observation group, which was significantly higher than that in the control group (67.74%, χ2=14.49, P<0.05).There was no serious adverse reaction between the two groups.ConclusionThe combination of sulforubicin and olanzapine for the first episode of schizophrenia is very effective in improving the clinical symptoms and cognitive function of patients, and has better safety.

RESUMO

Objective · To explore the correlation of serum S100B protein with depressive episode of bipolar disorder (BD) and its prognosis. Methods· Based on BD criteria of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 4th edition (DSM-Ⅳ),80 patients with depressive episode of BD (case group) and 42 healthy controls (control group) were enrolled.Patients were randomly assigned into quetiapine group who were treated with lithium and quetiapine and modified electroconvulsive therapy (MECT) group who received lithium and MECT.The serum S100B level and Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD) were assayed before and after 4-week treatment. Results· The serum S100B levels before treatment in patients with depressive episode of BD were significantly higher than those in healthy controls (P=0.000).The levels of S100B in both drug and MECT groups decreased after 4-week treatment. The HAMD score after treatment significantly decreased than that before treatment (P=0.000).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the change of S 100B level was positively correlated with the change of HAMD score before and after treatment in case group (r=0.33,P=0.013).Conclusion· S100B may be associated with depressive episode of BD and its prognosis.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the feasibility of the three-dimensional brain artery vessel wall imaging technology reverse rotation angle of fast spin echo (T1 W-SPACE)in the diagnosis of ischemic cerebrovascular disease by comparing it with TOF vascular imaging in magnetic resonance. Methods Patients undergoing stroke but stable condition, including 50,patients with transient cerebral ischemia (TIA)or a history of stroke, examined by TOF-MRA and routine MRI sequence first, then followed by T1 W-SPACE.Results In 43 of 50 cases, conventional MRI sequences detectiog was positive,TOF-MRA found the vascular stenosis in 76 branches,T1 W-SPACE found the vascular stenosis in 73 branches, there was no difference between the two groups(χ2 =0.625,P >0.05);Conventional TOF-MRA cannot detect the vascular wall, T1 W-SPACE found that arterial wall thickening, plaque in 48 branches. Conclusion Compared with the TOF-MRA,T1 W-SPACE can not only detect the vessel stenosis, but also the vessel wall and plaque, and can also type on plaque from pathology angle, has im-portant clinical significance for early prevention and treatment of stroke.

RESUMO

Objective: To study the executive and attention function of patients with depression. Methods: We used the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) and Continue Performance Test (CPT) to study the executive and attention function in 66 patients with schizophrenia, 42 patients suffering from depression, and 50 normal controls. Results: Schizophrenic patients and depressive patients performed worse than the normal controls in WCST (P
