RESUMO

Objective:To fulfill the automatic radiolabeling of the norepinephrine transporter (NET) trancer 18F-meta-fluorobenzylguanidine (mFBG), and explore the 18F-mFBG PET/CT imaging effect of pheochromocytoma. Methods:On the basis of the chemical structure of mFBG, a spirocyclic iodonium ylide was used as the precursor to undergo a 3-step reaction sequence (radiofluorination, deprotection and neutralization) on AllinOne synthesis module. Purification by high performance liquid chromatography and formulation were conducted to generate 18F-mFBG. The corresponding quality control tests of 18F-mFBG product was performed. Afterwards, a postoperative patient with pheochromocytoma underwent 18F-mFBG PET/CT imaging. Results:The radiosynthesis was accomplished within 70 min, and 18F-mFBG was obtained in (17.8±2.4)% non-decay-corrected radiochemical yield ( n=5), with radiochemical purity >97% and molar activity >59.2 GBq/μmol. Sterility test, bacterial endotoxins test, abnormal toxicity test and the acetonitrile residue all met the requirements of Pharmacopoeia of the People′ s Republic of China (2020 Volume Ⅳ). The 18F-mFBG PET/CT imaging disclosed high uptake in pheochromocytoma and clear localization of lesions. Conclusions:The automatic radiolabeling of the NET targeted tracer 18F-mFBG is successfully realized by commercially available synthesis module, and the production quality meets all requirements for clinical translation. 18F-mFBG has a potential to image neuroendocrine lesions in clinical setting.

RESUMO

We summarized the experiences of construction and management of vaccine safety surveillance systems in different countries and regions by using literature review, and then made the recommendations of strengthening vaccine surveillance system in China. In the study, we found that multiple existing national and regional vaccine surveillance systems, such as VAERS and EudraVigilance, can ensure vaccine safety through multi-sectoral surveillance, identification of adverse signals, and promotion of awareness of active reporting. However, the monitoring systems have some limitations, such as reporting bias and system decentralization. Therefore, China's vaccine monitoring system should establish an effective vaccine surveillance system, which achieves multi-sectoral, active, open to the public surveillance.

RESUMO

Molecular pharmacognosy is a science of classification and identification, cultivation and protection, and production of active ingredients of graduated drugs at the molecular level. The proposal of molecular pharmacognosy allows the research of crude drugs to advance from the microscopic level to the genetic level. Pueraria lobata root, as a medicinal and edible plant, has high application value and economic value. There are many varieties that are easy to cause confusion, and it is not easy to distinguish and identify according to traditional identification methods. Moreover, the research of P. lobate root at the genetic level is still relatively shallow. the study received extensive attention of scholars. This article reviews recent research on molecular identification of P. lobate, transcriptome sequencing, cloning and synthesis of functional genes of P. lobate root in recent years in order to provide references for further promoting the development and utilization of P. lobate root and its active ingredients.

RESUMO

Transfusion-associated graft-versus-host disease (TA-GVHD) is known as one of common complications of blood transfusion. The blood irradiation is generally accepted as a proven method to prevent from this disease, for the reason that it makes lymphocytes inactivated in blood products. The blood irradiation indicator provides a guarantee of proper radiation dose, thus improving the transfusion safety. Though widely used in developed countries for decades, the blood irradiation indicator is still in the initial stage in our country. In this review, the action principle, applications and applied value of the blood irradiation indicator are summarized briefly.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVEWe aimed to evaluate the combined effect of a family history of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and high serum C-reactive protein (CRP) on the stroke incidence in an Inner Mongolian population in China.

METHODSA prospective cohort study was conducted from June 2002 to July 2012, with 2,544 participants aged 20 years and over from Inner Mongolia, China. We categorized participants into four groups based on the family history of CVD and CRP levels.

RESULTSWe adjusted for age; sex; smoking; drinking; hypertension; body mass index; waist circumference; and blood glucose, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. Compared with the group with no family history of CVD/low CRP levels, the group with family history of CVD/high CRP levels had a hazard ratio (HR) of 1.78 [95% confidence interval (CI), 1.03-3.07; P = 0.039] of stroke, and an HR of 2.14 (95% CI, 1.09-4.20; P = 0.027) of ischemic stroke. The HRs of hemorrhagic stroke for the other three groups were not statistically significant (all P > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONParticipants with both a family history of CVD and high CRP levels had the highest stroke incidence, suggesting that high CRP levels may increase stroke risk, especially of ischemic stroke, among individuals with a family history of CVD.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND:Some studies have focused on bone marrow mesenchymalstem cells (BMSCs) combined with allograft bone or artificial bone substitute materials for bonedefect repair. But there is no report on BMSCs combined with Bio-oss for repair of rabbit skull defects as yet.OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect ofBMSCs combined with Bio-oss in repairing skull defects in rabbits.METHODS:BMSCs from male rabbits were isolated, cultured, and used as seed cells. In the skull of the female rabbits, three full-thickness bone defects with the same external diameter of 6 mm were made by a ring bone drill. Ninety-six female rabbits were randomly divided into four groups, and given Bio-oss/BMSCs in combination group, Bio-oss alone in Bio-oss group, BMSCs implantation in BMSCs group, and no intervention in blank group. All the implant surfaces were covered with guided tissue regeneration membrane.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The osteogenic effect in the combination group was better than that in the other three groups, and the Bio-oss group showed better osteogenesis in comparison with BMSCs and blank groups. But there was no significant difference between the BMSCs and blank groups. These findings indicate that the combined use of BMSCs as seed cells and Bio-oss as a scaffold material exerts overt osteogenic effects in rabbit skull defect area, which provides a new idea for the clinical treatment of bone defects.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVEWaist circumference, waist-to-hip ratio and waist-to-height ratio, which are the indicators or measures of abdominal adiposity, have long been hypothesized to increase the risk of stroke; yet evidence accumulated till date is not conclusive. Here, we conducted a dose-response meta-analysis to summarize evidences of the association between these measures of abdominal adiposity and the risk of stroke.

METHODSPubMed and Web of Science databases were searched from inception to May 2015. Two investigators independently conducted the study selection and data extraction. Dose-response relationships were assessed by the generalized least squares trend estimation, while the summary effect estimates were evaluated by the use of fixed- or random-effect models. Subgroup and sensitivity analyses were performed to assess the potential sources of heterogeneity and the robustness of the pooled estimation. Publication bias of the literature was evaluated using Begg's and Egger's test.

RESULTSAltogether 15 prospective cohort studies were identified in this study. The summary of relative risks (95% confidence intervals) of stroke for the highest versus the lowest categories was 1.28 (1.18-1.40) for waist circumference, 1.32 (1.21-1.44) for waist-to-hip ratio, and 1.49 (1.24-1.78) for waist-to-height ratio. For a 10-cm increase in waist circumference, the relative risk of stroke increased by 10%; for a 0.1-unit increase in waist-to-hip ratio, the relative risk increased by 16%; and for a 0.05-unit increase in waist-to-height ratio, the relative risk increased by 13%. There was evidence of a nonlinear association between waist-to-hip ratio and stroke risk, Pnonlinearity=0.028.

CONCLUSIONFindings from our meta-analysis indicated that waist circumference, waist-to-hip ratio, and waist-to-height ratio were positively associated with the risk of stroke, particularly ischemic stroke.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo review and assess the effect of single moxibustion for exercise-induced fatigue: (EIF).

METHODSComputer-search for 8 medical databases and 5 clinical trail registries were conducted for: randomized controlled trials (RCTs), added with hand-search for 10 Chinese acupuncture-moxibustion journals and additional references. Data from included RCTs were pooled by RevMan5.1. Methodology quality of RCTs was judged by Cochrane Collaboration assessment tool while quality of primary outcomes was evaluated by GRADE3.2.

RESULTSFive RCTs were finally included, all reported in small sample size with high risk of: bias. Comparisons on single moxibustion and rest relief (without treatment) were studied. Six outcomes were reported, all favored moxibustion to rest relief for EIF. Primary outcomes showed as rating of perceived exertion (RPE) with mean difference (MD)=-0.49, 95% confidence interval (CI) [-0.80, -0.19], 800-m race performance with MD=-2.21, 95% CI [-3.57, -0.85], and Harvard Step Index (HSI) with MD=14.75, 95% CI [8.35, 21.15]. Moreover, all primary outcomes as RPE, 800-m race performance and HSI were rated low quality.

CONCLUSIONSSingle moxibustion might be considered effective for EIF. However, due to small samples of included RCTs, high risk of bias among studies and poor quality of primary outcomes and subjects restricted to Chinese athletes only, these results present limitation, and should be taken with caution for practice. More large-size studies with rigorous design are warranted to further test effectiveness of moxibustion for EIF.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVEWe aimed to investigate the cumulative effect of high CRP level and apolipoprotein B-to-apolipoprotein A-1 (ApoB/ApoA-1) ratio on the incidence of ischemic stroke (IS) or coronary heart disease (CHD) in a Mongolian population in China.

METHODSFrom June 2003 to July 2012, 2589 Mongolian participants were followed up for IS and CHD events based on baseline investigation. All the participants were divided into four subgroups according to C-reactive protein (CRP) level and ApoB/ApoA-1 ratio. Cox proportional hazard models were used to estimate the hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the IS and CHD events in all the subgroups.

RESULTSThe HRs (95% CI) for IS and CHD were 1.33 (0.84-2.12), 1.14 (0.69-1.88), and 1.91 (1.17-3.11) in the 'low CRP level with high ApoB/ApoA-1', 'high CRP level with low ApoB/ApoA-1', and 'high CRP level with high ApoB/ApoA-1' subgroups, respectively, in comparison with the 'low CRP level with low ApoB/ApoA-1' subgroup. The risks of IS and CHD events was highest in the 'high CRP level with high ApoB/ApoA-1' subgroup, with statistical significance.

CONCLUSIONHigh CRP level with high ApoB/ApoA-1 ratio was associated with the highest risks of IS and CHD in the Mongolian population. This study suggests that the combination of high CRP and ApoB/ApoA-1 ratio may improve the assessment of future risk of developing IS and CHD in the general population.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND:Insufficient oral soft tissues in the implant zone may have a negative effect on the wound healing and the aesthetic restoration in the late stage. Platelet-rich fibrin can promote the wound healing of soft tissue defects. But there is stil a lack of in-depth studies on the promotion of oral soft tissue defects in animal experiments. OBJECTIVE: To compare the repairing effects of platelet-rich fibrin and colagen membrane on soft tissue defects of the hard palate in New Zealand rabbits. METHODS:Fifty-four New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into three groups (n=14 per group): platelet-rich fibrin group, colagen membrane group and blank control group. A 5 mm-diameter circular ful-thickness soft tissue defect was made in the front of the hard palate, 2 mm distant to the rear maxilary incisors and mucosal edge of the bilateral hard palates. Autologous platelet-rich fibrin membrane or colagen membrane were implanted into the defect in the platelet-rich fibrin group and colagen membrane group, respectively. No treatment was given in the blank control group. General observation of the wound and wound healing analysis were performed at days 3, 7, 14, 21, 28, 56 post operation. Hematoxylin-eosin staining, CD31 immunohistochemical staining and Masson staining were used to observe inflammatory reaction, angiogenesis and colagen formation in the surgical site. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The wound healing rate was fastest in the platelet-rich fibrin group, and no obvious scar formed. At 3 days post operation, there was no difference in the wound healing rates among the three groups; at 7 days, the wound healing rate in the platelet-rich fibrin group was significantly higher than that in the colagen membrane group and blank control group (P < 0.05). At 3 and 7 days after operation, the inflammatory reaction in the platelet-rich fibrin group was less than that in the colagen membrane and blank control groups (P < 0.05); at 14, 21, 28 and 56 days, there was no significant difference between the three groups. At 7, 14, 21 days after operation, the average absorbance value of CD31 in the platelet-rich fibrin group was significantly higher than that in the colagen membrane and blank control groups (P < 0.05). The average absorbance value of colagen formation in the platelet-rich fibrin group was significantly higher than that in the colagen membrane and blank control groups at 7 days after operation (P < 0.05), significantly higher than that in the blank control group at 14 days (P < 0.05), but lower than that in the colagen membrane and blank control groups at 21, 28 and 56 days after operation (P < 0.05). These findings show that platelet-rich fibrin can reduce inflammatory reactions in the process of wound healing, accelerate the angiogenesis, regulate the metabolism of colagen, reduce the formation of scar and improve the quality of wound healing, thereby promoting the repair of oral soft tissue defects.

Results:The teaching effects of experimental group was significantly better than control group in all respects (x2=7.512, x2=6.797, x2=7.778, x2=4.768, x2=8.541;P<0.05). Satisfaction ratio of experimental group was significantly higher than that of control group in all respects of surgery teaching (x2=4.475, x2=5.900, x2=5.005, x2=5.904, x2=4.502; P<0.05). The examination performance of experimental group was significantly better than control group in theoretical knowledge and clinical skills testing (t=25.840, t=19.319;P<0.05). Conclusion:Dynamic-network probation in combination with traditional clinical probation has a great effect on surgical practice teaching and worth to be applied.

RESUMO

BACKGROUNDThe pathological diagnosis is of critical importance to the subsequent treatment for the pathients with superior vena cava syndrome (SVCS). The aim of this study is to report our experience in the diagnosis of SVCS by endobronchial ultrasound guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA).

METHODSThe data of 520 patients who underwent EBUS-TBNA from September 2009 to May 2012 at our institution were reviewed. Of these, there were 14 males and 6 females (mean age of 59.1 years) with SVCS who received EBUS-TBNA that were included in the analysis.

RESULTSThe mean short axis diameter of the paratracheal lesions was (3.32 ± 1.79) cm (range, 1.69 to 9.50 cm) and 6 cases also had subcarinal lymph node enlargement with a mean short axis diameter of (2.14 ± 0.49) cm (range, 1.73 to 3.01 cm). An average of 4.3 punctures was performed per lesion. Malignancy was confirmed in 16 cases (10 small cell carcinomas, 4 adenocarcinomas, 1 squamous cell carcinoma and 1 Hodgkin lymphoma). In two patients, pathological examination of tissue revealed no evidence of malignancy and for 13 to 24 months of follow-up. One patient from whom adequate tissue was not obtained refused further surgical biopsy since he had undergone endovascular stenting of the SVC. One patient in whom a diagnosis was not obtained by EBUS-TBNA underwent thoracoscopic biopsy and the final diagnosis was B cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The diagnosis accuracy of EBUS-TBNA in SVCS was 18/20 patients.

CONCLUSIONEBUS-TBNA is a highly effective and safe procedure for the diagnosis of SVCS.
