RESUMO
Pulmonary extension of recurrent invasive papillomatosis often poses a diagnostic challenge to the examining bronchoscopist, pathologist, radiologist and surgeon, in distinguishing it as a benign lesion that is confined to the mucosa and extending along the branches of the tracheobronchial tree from true invasion of a malignant tumor. We document here a case of recurrent invasive respiratory papillomatosis which initially presented as a laryngeal papilloma. After multiple recurrences, the patient presented with bronchopulmonary involvement, complicated by invasive aspergillosis in a non-immunocompromised setting.

We report here a case of recurrent hematuria in a young man who presented with deteriorating renal function due to interstitial nephritis, secondary to, probably enteric fever. Immunofluorescence studies showed IgA nephropathy and ultrastructural studies revealed thin basement membrane nephropathy.

Study of the argyrophilic nucleolar organizer regions (AGNORS), which was used extensively in cytogenetics, has been identified as a reliable indicator of cell proliferation and in turn, the malignant potential of a lesion. Premalignant and malignant lesions of the cervix are analysed for their AGNOR counts in this study. Statistically significant difference in AGNOR counts was noted in different sets of lesions. This technique can serve as a useful adjunct to routine histopathology.

Immunohistochemical identification of Factor VIII-related antigen and Ulex Europaeus A-I lectin as endothelial markers were studied in a series of 103 cases, comprising of benign and malignant vascular tumours, and few undifferentiated sarcomas. The results are correlated with that of others in this area and emphasizes the utility of these markers in surgical pathological diagnosis, especially to confirm the difficult diagnosis of angiosarcoma from other poorly differentiated sarcomas.
