RESUMO

Objective In recent years, driven by our country's policy of strengthening independent innovation capabilities, there is dramatic increasing of the Patent application volume in Guizhou Province. This article analyzes the patent application and authorization of Guizhou medical research institutes, explored its existing problems and proposed countermeasures. Methods In this paper, the author searched the patent data of Guizhou Medical Scientific Research Institutions, including medical universities and their affiliated hospitals, medical colleges, and people's hospitals at all levels, through the Baiten Patent Data Retrieval Website.Data about the number of patent applications, types of applications, technical composition, legal status, legal events were analyzed to understand the existing problems, and proposed further solutions. Results At present, the medical scientific research units in Guizhou Province still have many problems in patent applications, such as low quality,Pay attention to the application but neglect the maintenance, low patent transactions, lack of patent knowledge for scientific researchers, and low patent consulting services. Conclusions These problems can be solved by improving the intellectual property management department, strengthening information literacy education, running a new mode of school-enterprise cooperation, and adding patent service organizations.

RESUMO

Verification of scientific literature novelty assessment is the final step in writing the literature novelty assessment report and is closely related with its academic level. The key points in verifying novelty assessment of medical literature were thus analyzed with examples in this paper, including the scientific and technical points, literature novelty assessment points, retrieval terms, retrieval strategies, and conclusion of literature novelty assessment.

RESUMO

Diabetic nephropathy is one of the main causes of renal end-stage disease. The pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy is complex. The current treatment is only for a particular cause without multi-target therapeutic drugs. Chinese medicine is a great treasure with multi-component complex drugs interacting with multiple targets and functions. This paper reviewed the protective effect of Chinese medicine for treating diabetic nephropathy in clinical studies, in vivo studies, and in vitro studies. The possible mechanisms, the major compounds and active crude drugs were also summarized. It was shown that Chinese medicine could not only relieve several symptoms and improve the quality of life, but also reduce the levels of proteinuria and kidney damage, and further improve renal function via multiple pathways based on the whole human system. Moreover, there were no reports of severe adverse reactions during the treatment.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo analyze the level of exposure and cluster of risk factors to stroke for patients with non valvular atrial fibrillation.

METHODSA questionnaire survey was conducted among 583 patients with non valvular atrial fibrillation, randomly selected from 8 general hospitals and 7 community health service centers located in the 8 districts in Beijing city in 2006.

RESULTS133 patients attacked stroke and the prevalence of stroke in the total 583 patients was 22.8%. 78 patients attacked stroke after being diagnosed as atrial fibrillation with the prevalence related to atrial fibrillation as 14.3%. The levels of exposure related to age, duration of atrial fibrillation, histories of hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia were significantly different between stroke and non-stroke patients (P < 0.05). Data from multiple variables logistic regression analysis showed that age, duration of atrial fibrillation, history of dyslipidemia and history of diabetes increased the risk of stroke with odds ratio as 1.06, 2.08, 1.82, 1.79 respectively (95%CI was not including 1). The risk of stroke among those having 3 or 4 risk factors was 4.36 and 4.51 times of those without risk factor after adjusting for age, sex and duration of atrial fibrillation.

CONCLUSIONAge, duration of atrial fibrillation, history of dyslipidemia and history of diabetes were the main risk factors related to stroke and the clustering of risk factors would further increase the risk. It is important to control blood pressure, blood surge and lipid besides therapy of anticoagulation or antiplatelet for patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.
