RESUMO

Objective To investigate the expression of PD-1 and PD-L1/2 in T cell subsets and myeloma cells in the bone marrow from newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) patients and their relation with clinical features. Methods We collected the bone marrow and clinical data of 22 NDMM patients and 18 cases of healthy controls. We sorted CD4+T cells, CD8+T cells and myeloma cells by flow cytometry, and observed the expression of PD-1 and PD-L1/2. Results Compared with the control group, the proportion of CD8+T cells in the NDMM group was significantly higher, while the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ was significantly lower (both P < 0.05). The expression levels of PD-1 and PD-L2 in CD4+T cells in the NDMM group were significantly higher than those in the control group (both P < 0.05). The expression levels of PD-1, PD-L1 and PD-L2 in T cell subsets and myeloma cells of NDMM patients were not correlated with the gender, age, immune typing, Durie-Salmon stage and subtypes, ISS stage or mSMART3.0 stratification (both P > 0.05). Conclusion Most of MM patients suffering immune abnormality, which may be associated with the mutual immunosuppressive effects between T lymphocytes and plasma cells which expressing PD-1 and PD-L1/2.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo study the cytopathologic characteristics of cervical diseases in pregnant women and the outcomes of the postpartum women to provide evidence for prevention and treatment of cervical cancer.

METHODSThis study was conducted among 2329 pregnant women undergoing routine gestational examinations between September, 2012 and September, 2013. The women with abnormal cytological findings by Thin-prep cytology test (TCT) were followed up and colposcopy and cervical biopsy were performed. The TCT results of these women were compared with those of 32 491 non-pregnant women in Zhongshan Cervical Cancer Mass Screening Program.

RESULTSOf the 2329 pregnant women, a total of 97 patients had abnormal TCT results (4.16%). Cervical biopsy were performed for 14 patients (14.43%), and 8 (57.14%) of them had evidence of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) or cancer on biopsy. In the 32491 non-pregnant women in the mass screening program, 1383 (4.26%) women had abnormal TCT results and cervical biopsy were performed for 248 patients (17.93%), among whom 148 (59.68%) had evidence of CIN or cancer on biopsy. The rate of high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) was significantly higher in non-pregnant women than in pregnant women (P=0.033), but the total rate of cytological abnormalities were comparable between them (P=0.911). The patients with CIN had regular examinations during pregnancy and postpartum follow-up showed no invasive carcinoma.

CONCLUSIONPregnancy is not a risk factor to accelerate the progress of cervical lesions, and most of the cervical lesions are relieved or show no progression in the postpartum women, suggesting the feasibility of follow-up during pregnancy and postpartum reevaluation for patients with CIN in pregnancy.

RESUMO

Objective To research the relationship between hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and serum free estriol 3 (FE3) and explore its impact on pregnancy outcome. Methods Clinical data of 117 hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and 165 normal pregnant women were retrospectivly analyzed.Chemiluminescence immunoassay determination of maternal serum FE3 also had been conducted. Then analyzing the correlation between hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and FE3 and its impact on pregnancy outcomes. Results LDL cholesterol and the level of creatinine of observation group were significantly lower than the control group(t =3.129,9.372,all P < 0.05),while blood pressure, triglycerides,HDL,and 24-hour urinary protein content were significantly higher than control groug(t =7.361,2.398,2.833,all P < 0.05).The FE3 level of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group (t =2.913,P < 0.05).There was a significant positive correlation between the FE3 level of normal pregnant women and their gestational age (r =0.937,P < 0.05).The probabilities of premature birth, premature rupture of membranes, postpartum hemorrhage, and neonatal asphyxia of observation group were significantly higher than amtrol group (x2 =3.912,3.879,4.267,6.935,all P < 0.05).Conclusion There is a significant correlation between hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and FE3,which has an important significance on monitoring the health status of pregnant women and the fetal-placental function.

RESUMO

Objective To study the expression of KAI1mRNA in cervical carcinoma and its clinical significance. Methods The transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) method was applied to detect the expression of KAI1mRNA in 53 fresh freezing cervical tissues. The findings were compared with the clinicopathological data. Results The expression of KAI1mRNA was (0.309?0.093) in normal cervix,(1.608?0.289) in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN),(0.948?0.910) in cervical carcinoma respectively. The relative densitometric value of KAI1mRNA decreased in late stage of cervical cancer in local cervical cancer with lymphatic metastasis(P
