Ensaio sobre a aderência ao modelo nacional de bengala eletrônica Smart Mobb® como recurso auxiliar à mobilidade de pessoas com cegueira ou baixa visão / Essay on adherence to the national model of electronic walking stick Smart Mobb® as a resource to assist the mobility of people with blindness or low vision

Objetivo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar, por meio da interposição de questionário, pontos favoráveis e pontos potencialmente impeditivos à compra da Smart Mobb® como tecnologia assistiva auxiliar à mobilidade de pessoas com deficiência visual. Métodos: A aplicação do questionário foi realizada na Fundação Dorina Nowill para Cegos, instituição especializada no atendimento e reabilitação de pessoas com deficiência visual. A entrevista consistiu em perguntas sobre o perfil socioeconômico, social, tecnológico, sob o contexto das tecnologias assistivas, e de saúde, relativas ao indivíduo e às dificuldades que ele enfrenta no dia a dia por causa do seu quadro de deficiência visual. Resultados: Foram entrevistados oito candidatos. Os resultados indicaram que a Smart Mobb® possui características que apresentam identidade com as preferências relatadas pelas pessoas que participaram do estudo, apresentando inconsistência apenas quanto ao valor médio mensal estimado para venda e ao que esses indivíduos estão dispostos a pagar. Conclusão: Verificou-se que existe o desejo, por parte dos potenciais demandantes, quanto a soluções em tecnologias assistivas que carreguem maior teor tecnológico e que surjam como proposta de solução para o problema da mobilidade urbana. Com relação ao preço, a maioria dos entrevistados está disposta a pagar um percentual médio mensal abaixo do mínimo estipulado para a aquisição da bengala eletrônica Smart Mobb® , o que configura um potencial fator impeditivo à adesão

Objective: The objective of this work was to identify, through the questionnaire, favorable points and potentially impeding points for the purchase of Smart Mobb® as an auxiliary mobility technology for people with visual impairments. Methods: The questionnaire was applied at the Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind, an institution specialized in the care and rehabilitation of visually impaired people. The interview consisted of questions about the socioeconomic profile; Social; technological, in the context of assistive technologies; and health, including the individual and the difficulties he faces on a daily basis using his visual impairment. Results: Eight candidates were interviewed. The results indicate that Smart Mobb® has features that display the identity with respect to the people who study, showing inconsistency only in terms of the estimated average monthly value for sale and that these items are available for payment. Conclusion: It was found that it exists or desires, on the part of users who demand as much solutions in assisted technologies that carry greater technological content, and that appear as a solution proposal for the problem of urban mobility. With regard to price, most respondents are willing to pay an average monthly percentage below the minimum stipulated for the purchase of the Smart Mobb® electronic cane, or to set up a potential impediment to adherence

Avaliação de Sistema de Leitura Portátil (SLP) para baixa visão desenvolvido no Brasil / Evaluation of System Portable Reading (SPR) for low vision developed in Brazil

OBJETIVO: A proposta deste estudo é avaliar a eficácia e eficiência em uma série de casos do protótipo de um equipamento nacional de magnificação para leitura. MÉTODOS: Participaram deste estudo 30 pacientes na faixa etária entre 9 e 80 anos (17 do sexo masculino). Foi desenvolvido um aparelho portátil, patenteado pela UNIFESP (PI#020050145260), com um sistema de captura de imagens acoplado a um monitor de 5,6 polegadas proporcionando um aumento de 15 X. Foram analisadas a eficácia da acuidade visual e a eficiência de leitura após a utilização do protótipo proposto. RESULTADOS: Seis pacientes (20 por cento) apresentaram AV 8M, 12 pacientes (40 por cento) apresentaram AV 6M, 7 pacientes (23,3 por cento) apresentaram 5 M, 5 pacientes (16,7 por cento) apresentaram 4M. A média de acuidade visual antes da utilização do SLP medida pela tabela LHNV-1 logMAR foi de 5,75M e após a utilização 100 por cento dos pacientes atingiram a eficácia de AV J1. CONCLUSÃO: O protótipo do SLP mostrou-se um recurso alternativo no processo de inclusão social das pessoas com baixa visão com diferentes níveis de resíduo visual. Também pode proporcionar incentivo psicológico, permitir conforto, mobilidade e independência àqueles que necessitam de uma leitura mais prolongada e maior distância de trabalho.

PURPOSE: The proposal of this study is to test and to validate as the effectiveness and efficiency in a series of cases the prototype of a national equipment of magnification to reading. METHODS: A recently developed of equipment of magnification (patent pending Brazilian Institutte of Industrial Property # 020050145260) was tested in a group of 30 patients (age range 9 to 80 years, 17 males). A portable apparatus was developed with a system of capture of images coupled with a 5,6 inch monitor, providing an increase of 15 X. The effectiveness of the visual acuity and the reading efficiency were analyzed after the use of the proposed prototype. RESULTS: Six patients (20 percent) presented AV 8M, 12 patients (40 percent) presented AV 6,0M, 7 patients (23.3 percent) presented AV 5M, 5 patients (16.7 percent) presented 4M. The average of visual acuity before the utilization of SPR measured by LHNV-1 logMAR chart was 5,75M. After the use of LHNV-1 logMAR chart, 100 percent (one hundred percent) of the patients reached the efficacy of AV J1. CONCLUSION: The prototype of SPR is an alternative resource in the social inclusion process of low vision patients with different levels of visual residue. It demonstrates psychological incentive, allows comfort, mobility and independence to those who need a more extended lecture and more distance of work.
