Logros de la enseñanza semiológica clínica en un policlínico universitario / Achievements of the clinical semiological teaching in a university polyclinic

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal en el Policlínico Docente Municipal de Santiago de Cuba, de agosto a diciembre del 2011, con vistas a evaluar los logros de la enseñanza de la Semiología Clínica en dicho centro, para lo cual se entrevistó a un grupo de 29 profesores (con alumnos ayudantes entre ellos), que cumplieron con los criterios elaborados a tales efectos. Del análisis de las opiniones expresadas, se obtuvo que los tres primeros logros de dicha instrucción, según importancia, fueran en las áreas docente (100,0 por ciento) y asistencial (89,6 por ciento) y en la formación de valores (82,7 por ciento), con un evidente predominio en la docencia. Se recomendó evaluar el impacto del estudio y generalizarlo en los restantes policlínicos universitarios

A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out in the Municipal Teaching Polyclinic of Santiago de Cuba, from August to December, 2011, aimed at evaluating the achievements of the Clinical Semiological teaching in this center, for which a group of 29 professors was interviewed (with assistants students among them) that fulfilled the approaches elaborated to such effects. From the analysis of the expressed opinions, it was concluded that the first three achievements of this instruction, according to their importance, were in the educational area (100.0 percent) and assistance area (89.6 percent) and in values training (82.7 percent), with an evident prevalence in teaching. It was recommended to evaluate the impact of the study and generalize it in the rest of the university polyclinics

Estrategia capacitante en pacientes con hipertensión arterial / Training strategy in patients with hypertension

Se realizó una estrategia capacitante en 40 pacientes hipertensos, pertenecientes al área de salud del Policlínico Docente Municipal de Santiago de Cuba, de enero a diciembre de 2014, quienes cumplían los criterios de inclusión y exclusión elaborados a tal efecto, con vistas a evaluar los fundamentales resultados obtenidos con la aplicación de dicha estrategia, la cual fue estructurada en 3 etapas de trabajo: la diagnóstica, la de aplicación y la evaluativa. Se destacó la favorable variación de los aspectos cognocitivos impartidos, sobre todo de aquellos relacionados con el estilo de vida y el control de la presión arterial; por lo que se recomendó mantener la estrategia y evaluar nuevamente su impacto dentro de 2 años.

A training strategy in 40 patients with hypertension, belonging to the health area of the Municipal Teaching Polyclinic in Santiago de Cuba, was carried out from January to December, 2014, who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria elaborated to such an effect, aimed at evaluating the fundamental results obtained with the implementation of this strategy, which was structured in 3 work stages: diagnostic, implementation and evaluative stages. The favorable variation of the cognitive aspects imparted was remarkable, mainly of those related to the lifestyle and the blood pressure control; reason why it was recommended to maintain the strategy and to evaluate its impact again within 2 years.

Instrucción educativa sobre hipertensión arterial en el Policlínico Universitario Municipal de Santiago de Cuba / Educational instruction on hypertension at the Municipal University Polyclinic of Santiago de Cuba

Se realizó una intervención educativa en 74 pacientes con hipertensión arterial del Policlínico Universitario Municipal de Santiago de Cuba, desde enero de 2008 hasta igual mes del 2009, a fin de elevar el nivel de conocimientos de estos acerca de la enfermedad, para lo cual fueron diseñadas 3 etapas: diagnóstica, de intervención propiamente dicha y evaluativa, y ejecutadas 5 sesiones de clases. Las fundamentales modificaciones del conocimiento se encontraron en los temas relacionados con los hábitos dietéticos y el control del estrés. Con este estudio pudo elevarse el nivel de instrucción en la mayoría de los integrantes de la casuística

An educational intervention was conducted in 74 patients with hypertension, belonging to the Municipal University Polyclinic of Santiago de Cuba, from January 2008 to January 2009, in order to increase their knowledge of the disease, for which 3 stages were designed: diagnosis, intervention and evaluation, and 5 sessions of classes were delivered. The main modifications of the knowledge were in topics related with dietary habits and stress control. With this study the instruction level could be increased in most of the case material
