RESUMO

Objective@#To analyze the influencing factors and mechanism for unprotected sexual behavior of men who have sex with men (MSM) in China.@*Methods@#MSM who are more than 16 years old and have had homosexual sexual behaviors in recent years were recruited from five cities (Tianjin, Harbin, Nanjing, Chongqing and Xi'an) with active MSM population during 2013-2014 through network, site recruitment and peer recommendation using convenient sampling method. 3 519 subjects were included in this study. The sexual behavior related information of MSM in five cities was investigated using questionnaires. The confirmatory factor analysis was used to construct the measurement model by using the robust estimation method based on the weighted least square method to estimate parameters, and the final model was determined through evaluation and modification.@*Results@#A total of 3 519 subjects were (29.9±8.76) years old, with a clear sexual orientation of 3 223 (91.6%), and 2 287 (65.0%) were aware of free HIV/AIDS treatment policies. The proportion of using condom last time was 77.2% (n=2 718), and the proportion of using condom every time was 36.9% (n=1 299) and 43.2% (n=1 521) respectively for the past six months with fixed and temporary partners. Structural equation model provided a good fit, the root mean square error of approximation, comparative fit index and non-normed fit index was 0.07, 0.97, 0.95, respectively. Knowing AIDS knowledge, educational level and sexual orientation had direct effects on unprotected sexual behavior, and the path coefficients were 0.179,-0.049 and -0.159, respectively. While the role of interventions was indirect, the path coefficient was 0.147.@*Conclusion@#Lower education and unclear sexual orientation are disadvantages for reducing unprotected sexual behavior. Interventions mainly affect the unprotected sexual behavior by improving the level of HIV/AIDS knowledge. Increasing the comprehensive knowledge of MSM through intervention should be highly valued.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo identify clinical characteristics of hospitalized laboratory-confirmed influenza cases of children under 15 years old, and their risk factors of influenza infection.

METHODSAnalyzing the reports of hospitalized laboratory-confirmed influenza cases of children under 15 years old who were detected by the sentinel surveillance systems in 10 provinces from December 2009 to June 2014. Such data as their demographic, medical history, clinical symptoms and signs, treatment and outcome were collected using questionnaires, with their clinical characteristics and their risk factors of influenza infection described.

RESULTSOf the 2 937 severe acute respiratory infection inpatients, 190 (6.5%) were laboratory-confirmed influenza cases. 123 (64.7%) of such confirmed cases were male, and 139 (73.2%) were children under 5 years old, with age median of 3.0 years (IQR: 1.0-5.0 years). 20 (10.5%) of them had at least one chronic medical condition, mostly chronic cardiovascular disease (3.2%), immunosuppressive disease (3.2%), and cancer/tumor (2.6%). Most common clinical symptoms of the cases were fever (92.6%) and cough (88.8%), of which abnormal pulmonary auscultation (51.1%) and abnormal chest X-ray performance (36.1%) were the most common clinical signs. 29 cases (15.8%) had complications, of which pneumonia (15.3%) was most common. 16 cases (8.6%) used antiviral drugs, and 4 cases (2.2%) were admitted into ICU. Risk factor analysis suggested that age < 6 months (OR = 0.406, 95% CI: 0.203-0.815) was a protective factor against influenza infection; and age 5-9 years old (OR = 2.535, 95% CI: 1.059-6.066) was a risk factor for influenza infection.

CONCLUSIONHospitalized laboratory-confirmed influenza cases were found mostly in children under 5 years old. Risk exposure for influenza infection varied among age groups.

RESUMO

Objective: To explore the effects of different proportions of Fructus Cnidii (Shechuangzi) and Psoralea corylifolia (Buguzhi) on highly metastatic human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231BO and bone marrow stromal cell line ST-2 in vitro. Methods: Thirty-six female SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups to prepare the drug-medicated sera by administering with different proportions of Fructus Cnidii and Psoralea corylifolia, including 4:0 group, 3:1 group, 1:1 group, 1:3 group, 0:4 group and control group. MDA-MB-231BO cells and ST-2 cells were cultured in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium containing drug-medicated serum. Inhibition rates of MDA-MB-231BO cells and ST-2 cells were measured by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) method; migration ability of MDA-MB-231BO cells was tested by a cell migration experiment; alkaline phosphatase activity (ALP) of ST-2 cells was measured by using 4-nitrophenyl phosphate disodium salt, and mineralized nodule formation of ST-2 cells was measured by alizarin red staining. Results: Sera contaning different proportions of Fructus Cnidii and Psoralea corylifolia inhibited the migration activity of MDA-MB-231BO cells as compared with the blank serum, and serum contaning Fructus Cnidii and Psoralea Corylifolia at proportion of 1:1 had the best function (P<0.01). Fructus Cnidii and Psoralea corylifolia at ratio of 1:1 also enhanced the ALP activity of ST2 cells (P<0.05) and increased the number of mineralized nodules of ST2 cells (P<0.01). Conclusion: Kidney-warming recipe of Fructus Cnidii and Psoralea corylifolia can inhibit proliferation and migration of MDA-MB-231BO cells and increase the activity of ST-2 cells.
