RESUMO

Objective To investigated the etiologic characteristics of Shigella (S.) sonnei strains causing outbreaks and sporadic cases in some areas of Guangdong province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region during 2014-2016. Methods Fourteen S. sonnei strains isolated from outbreaks and 6 S. sonnei strains from sporadic cases from Guangdong and Liuzhou of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were tested for antimicrobial resistance and analyzed by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). Six typical strains were selected for whole genome sequencing typing and compared with 51 strains isolated both at home and abroad from NCBI genome database. Results The antibiotic resistance test indicated the isolates had high resistance rate to ampicillin, tetracycline, gentamicin, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole and nalidixic acid, while sensitive to azithromycin, chloromycetin and imipenem. PFGE showed high similarity (93.2%) among the strains isolated from different areas. The whole genome sequencing analysis also revealed that all the typical strains wereclustered into a same evolution branch, close to some strains from Korea. Conclusions The S. sonnei strains isolated from some areas of Guangdong and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region showed high resistance to commonly used antibiotics, but they were sensitive to azithromycin, chloramphenicol and imipenem. The isolates in this study also showed similar PFGE patterns and close phylogenic evolution.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of endoscopic push?radial dissection (EPRD)for benign esophageal stricture(BES). Methods Clinical data of 24 patients diagnosed as having BES who received EPRD were analyzed. The procedure and efficacy were evaluated. Results All 24 patients underwent EPRD successfully with mean operation time being 32 min(15?45 min). The mean esophageal stric?ture incision length was 3?? 2 cm (1?? 0?8?? 0 cm).No severe complications related to EPRD occurred, or trans?ferred for surgery. Patients were followed up for 1?5 months (mean 2?? 8 months). Dysphagia was relieved signif?icantly during the follow?up in 23 patients where endoscopy could go through smoothly. But dysphagia re?oc?curred in one patient 2 weeks after the operation, who underwent a second EPRD and stent implantation, then dysphagia was relieved. Conclusion EPRD is safe, feasible and effective for benign esophageal stricture.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the correlation between serum tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α,neuron-specific enolase (NSE)and the degree of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).Methods Forty-six HIE patients in acute and convalescent stage and 30 full-term newborn infant were enrolled in this study. The level of serum of TNF-α and NSE were detected. The relationship between TNF-α,NSE level and severity of HIE was analyzed. Results The level of serum TNF-α and NSE in acute stage of HIE group were (156.3 ± 28.8) ng/L and (21.5 ± 3.6) μg/L,in convalescent stage of HIE group were (80.7 ± 26.1) ng/L and (10.6 ± 1.7) μ g/L,and in control group were (76.3 ± 24.4) ng/L and (9.4 ± 1.6) μ g/L.The level of serum TNF-α and NSE in acute stage of HIE group were significantly higher than those in convalescent stage of HIE group and control group (P < 0.05).The level of serum TNF-α and NSE in convalescent stage of HIE group had no significant difference compared with those in control group (P > 0.05).The level of serum TNF-α and NSE in mild HIE group were (88.5 ± 25.6) ng/L and (9.7 ± 2.4) μ g/L,in moderate HIE group were (150.1 ± 16.5) ng/L and (17.8 ± 3.6) μ g/L,and in severe HIE group were (197.3 ± 30.2) ng/L and (23.6 ±4.3) μg/L.The level of TNF-αand NSE were increased with the aggravation of HIE and there had significant difference among different degree of HIE(P < 0.05).The level of serum TNF-α and NSE in mild HIE group and control group had no significant difference (P > 0.05),and there had significant difference between moderate HIE group, severe HIE group and control group (P < 0.05).Spearman rank correlation analysis showed that the level of TNF-α and NSE had positive correlation with the degree of HIE (r =0.54,0.57,P < 0.01 or < 0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the level of TNF-α had positive correlation with the level of NSE (r =0.46,P < 0.05).Conclusions The variation of TNF-α and NSE level in HIE newborn infant is parallel to the severity of the disease, which can sensitively reflect the severity of HIE.Therefore,TNF-α and NSE may be used as vital indexes for the evaluation of the severity of HIE.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the anticoagulant effect of polysaccharides from the heads of Rana temporaria chensinensis(Chinese Forest Frogs). Methods In-vitro experiments were applied to test the effect of polysaccharides on recalcification time, prothrombin time, thrombase time , the activities of thrombin, hydrolyzing fibrin content, activated fibrin dissolve zymogen and blood clotting.. In the in-vivo experiment, bleeding time was measured by cutting mouse tail and clotting time was measured by glass sheet method. Results The polysaccharides from the heads of Chinese Forest Frogs had an obvious anticoagulant effect in a dose-effect manner, but had on thrombolytic action. It could prolong the bleeding time and the clotting time in vivo. Condusion The polysaccharides from the heads of Chinese Forest Frogs have the anticoagulatant activities in vitro and in vivo.
