RESUMO

The authors report 3 cases of granular cell tumor or "Abrikossof's tumor". One case is about a congenital granular cell epulis of newborn infant. The literature of granular cell tumor is reviewed. The granular cell tumor is relatively uncommun, often asymptomatic, whose localization is ubiquitary characterized histogically by plump neoplastic cells containing numerous acidophilic granules. The neural origin is the most probable, at least, for the acquired form. Recently, a pericyte origin is advanced for the congenital granular cell epulis. For certain authors, this lesion must be regarded as different entity. The evolution is often benign
