RESUMO

We have looked at 72 patients [117 extremities] with combined aortoiliac and superficial femoral occlusive disease to see if their clinical presentation and arteriographic findings can predict the outcome of proximal reconstruction. Nearly 80 percent of the patients achieved favorable out come with proximal reconstruction. We have found that patients who underwent surgery for limb salvage were more likely to have favorable outcome and extremities with proximal occlusion rather than diffuse stenosis are more likely to have favorable outcome with proximal reconstruction alone
