RESUMO

Infertility has a fair degree of male factor contribution in its aetiology, hence needs complete evaluation of male partner especially the status of spermatogenesis. In the present study comparative evaluation of fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and biopsy of testis showed 90% accuracy of FNAC in respect of histopathological diagnosis of spermatogenesis. FNAC is a safe, fairly accurate, outdoor investigation in infertile man and it is devoid of the complications of haematoma formation, suppression of spermatogenesis and antigenic stimulation as seen with testicular biopsy.

RESUMO

Angiomyolipoma is an uncommon benign tumour accounting for less than 1% of all surgically excised tumours of the kidney. It may present as an isolated lesion or in association with tuberous sclerosis. An impalpable tumour is often detected incidentally during investigation of a case for some urinary tract pathology. CT scan has proved to be a useful investigation for pre-operative diagnosis; it may however, be of no value if the fat content of the tumour is low. Here a case of angiomyolipoma of left kidney is reported where pre-operative diagnosis was suggested by CT scan and histopathology confirmed it.

RESUMO

Intestinal malrotation presenting with abdominal problems are not common beyond the neonatal period. An adolescent or adult harboring this anomaly may suffer from delay in diagnosis and inappropriate treatment including surgery. We report three patients, aged 17, 31 and 50 years, with intestinal malrotation presenting as an appendicular problem (2) and chronic abdominal pain (1). The former mode of presentation has not been reported so far.
