RESUMO

The invasion and metastasis of malignant tumors are the main factors affecting the prognosis of patients. Tumor parenchymal cells are significantly heterogeneous and their biological characteristics are very different. The tumor cells of the tumor invasive front (TIF) often play a decisive role in invasion and metastasis. It was found that the cells in this region may have more stem cell characteristics, more invasiveness and therapeutic resistance, which can better predict the progression of tumors and provide a reference for the formulation of personalized treatment schemes. This article summarizes the clinical significance of the TIF from three aspects: pathology, biological characteristics, imaging, especially molecular imaging.
