RESUMO
Partindo de uma perspectiva institucional, foram investigados fatores de risco e de proteção para a ocorrência de maltrato infantil, que confluem no sistema educacional. A amostra foi estratificada entre escolas públicas de educação infantil e de ensino básico, selecionadas por lugar geográfico e por classe social predominante (média, baixa média e baixa), de Córdoba, Argentina. O estudo descritivo correlacional associou vários instrumentos metodológicos: pesquisa, entrevistas, grupos locais, cartilhas de observação. Não foi possível destacar fatores isolados de risco de violência, porque eles se sobrepõem e se inter-relacionam. Foram encontrados aspectos de violência social, institucional e entre pares, tanto real como simbólica, em função das várias situações de risco das quais as crianças participam direta ou indiretamente e cujas conseqüências recaem sobre elas. Tais violências se coacervam num jogo de violência social, institucional e individual. Foram também encontradas, ainda que muito poucas, situações de proteção.
This work investigates factors of risk and protection related to the occurrences of child abuse which concour to the educational system, viewed from an institutional perspective.The sample has been stratified amongst public high and elementary schools in the city of Cordoba, Argentina. The schools have been selected per geographic area, as well as perits dominant social class of the pupils (being those middle class, lower middle class and low). Many methodologies have been cross used in the descriptive and correlational study: research, interviews, focal groups, observational studies. During the period of the work, itwas impossible to isolate the violence risk factors, being those risks perceived as inter-related and superposed. Aspects of both social and institutional violence have been found, as wellas violence amongst peers (symbolic and real violence, as well), and it has been attributed to the many possible risk situations experienced by the children, either direct or indirectly,but whose consequences would befall them. Therefore, those many kinds of violence have been perceived to accumulate in a sort of game, that mixes social, instutional and individualviolence. There has also been found, although in a smaller amount, situations of protection.
