RESUMO
Segundo Robert Castel, o projeto moderno de liberdade eautonomia exigiu a construção de suportes sociais quecompensaram a vulnerabilidade do indivíduo, deixado inicialmenteà mercê de si mesmo na aurora da modernidade. Esta análise sugerea tese paradoxal de que a liberdade individual não contradiz, pelocontrário, supõe a consistência dos laços sociais que permitam olivre exercício da autonomia. Winnicott, por sua vez, contribuipara a compreensão desse paradoxo, do ponto de vista subjetivo,mostrando como, ao longo do processo maturacional, nas suasdiferentes fases, a autonomia do indivíduo, representada pelacapacidade de estar só, depende da presença de um ambientesuficientemente forte para suportar que ele se discrimine sem riscode ruptura e solidão. Este trabalho representa, portanto, umatentativa de articulação das contribuições da sociologia e dapsicanálise no entendimento da crise que atravessa a sociedadecontemporânea, conseqüente da dissolução dos suportes sociais.
According to Robert Castel, the modern ideal of freedom andautonomy was made possible by the development of socialinstitutions that compensated for the extreme vulnerability of theindividual, who, at the onset of modernity, was left on his own.This analysis points out the paradoxical thesis that individualfreedom does not contradict but, on the contrary, presupposesthe existence of solid social bonds that allow the free exercise ofindividual autonomy. Winnicott, from a subjective point of view,contributes to the understanding of this paradox, arguing that,during the different phases of the maturation process, individualautonomy, represented by the capacity to be alone, depends onthe presence of an environment strong enough to encompassdifferentiation with no risk of retaliation or loneliness. This paper,therefore, articulates sociological and psychoanalytic contributionswith the aim of better understanding the present social crisis thatresults from the dissolution of social institutions.
