Comparison between anal endosonography and digital examination of anal fisulae and suppuration

Anal endosonography is a new, potentially promising technique for localizing fistulae track and associated abscess in the perianal region. A prospective trial was done comparing the accuracy of digital examination and anal endosonography in defining the anatomy of anal fistulae and anal suppuration.
