RESUMO

Background: Nurses are important health caregivers in Bangladesh. They help to improve health-facilities every day and reach it to helpless people. This study aimed to assess the responsibilities of professional nurses in public health hospitals. Methods: The descriptive cross-sectional study conducted at Rajshahi Medical College (RMCH), Bangladesh from 18 September 2018 to 19 February 2019 included 300 individuals with following inclusion and exclusion criteria. A pre-tested questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection. Results: Majority of participants age range of 31-40y 46.33%, 41-50y 27%, 20-30y, and 51-60y 19% and 7.67%, respectively. Moreover, Female are 96.33% and males constitute only 7.74%. Based on religion, Muslim 87%, Hindu 10%, Christian 1.67%, and Buddhist 1.33%. Beginning of education, diploma was compared to very few with advanced training for instance Master's and Ph.D. 38.67% nurses were 1-5 years of experience. But only 11 had ?21 years of experience. A significant portion, 48.02%, had a good level of assessment of patients and 36.67% of individuals excelled at a high level of proficiency. While only 2% showed an inferior level of patient assessment. Improvement of quality care, the majority of respondents 48.33% good, 17.67% excellent, 21.67% average, and 3.33% poor quality care. Conclusions: Nurses are the key element of the healthcare system. The study outcomes showing their best to provide quality service despite of lack of resources. If the responsible authority has a deep look at this domain, in the future they could make a role model in Bangladesh.

RESUMO

This study aimed to investigate the general mandibular symphysis (MS) shape variation among Class III skeletal base, using geometric morphometric analysis. Pre-treatment lateral cephalometric radiographs of 254 patients aged 11–40 years old, with Class III skeletal base (ANB <1o ) and lower incisor angle (<99o ) were included. Nine-landmarks with x and y coordinates were identified on MS using TPSDig2 software, then exported into Morpho J for shape and statistical analysis. Principal component analysis showed that three main shape dimensions with a total variance of 74.6% represented the majority variation of samples. Procrustes Anova showed the shape of MS in Class III skeletal base to be mainly influenced by gonial angle, incisor inclination and sex (P<0.0001). Canonical variate analysis showed that high gonial angle groups had significantly narrower and elongated MS whereas low gonial angle groups had wider, bulbous and rounded MS (P<0.0001). The ratio of alveolar part to basal part was 1:5 in low gonial angle and 2:3 in high gonial angle. Males had significantly taller MS with narrower B point area compared to females (P<0.0001). Retroclined incisors exhibited taller and retroclined alveolar parts (P<0.0001). The shape of MS in Class III skeletal base varied at the alveolar part, basal part or both and it is influenced by gonial angle, incisor inclination and sex. Hence, understanding the shape variation of MS is important to aid orthodontic treatment planning.

RESUMO

Introduction: Any pregnancy which has passed beyondexpected date of delivery (EDD) is called postdated pregnancyor prolonged pregnancy. Objective: Main goal of this study is to evaluate obstetricoutcome in postdated pregnancy.Method: This was a prospective observational type study.Patients whose pregnancy extended beyond 40 weeks ofgestational age, patients who were sure of the date of lastmenstrual period (LMP) along with 1st trimester obstetrics scanwere included for this study. Patients not sure of LMP wereexcluded in this study. The study was conducted in theDepartment of Obstetrics and Gynecology, of different privatehospital Sylhet for study duration of 3 years. Total 223 caseswere selected purposively for this study. Results: The study result shows fetus condition among the223 pregnant women highest 96.41% were alive and only3.59% were dead. Male baby and female baby was almostsame male 49.33% and female baby 50.67%. After deliverybaby admitted in hospital 76.23%, NICU 6.28% not admitted17.49%. Most of the pregnant women’s (88.34%) managementwas oligo induction failure and rest was laparoscopy. Peroperative finding of the patients shows highest 74.89% pretermpre-mature rapture of membrane, 18.83% Ectopic pregnancyand 6.28% rapture uterus. Conclusion: Postdated pregnancy having 50% risk ofrecurrence in next pregnancy. It is a high risk pregnancy thefoetal complication in the form of foetal distress, meconiumaspiration syndrome, birth trauma etc. It also increases rate ofinstrumental delivery and operative delivery.
