Ankylosis of temporomandibular joint

Fourteen cases of ankylosis of the Temporo-Mandibular joint were studied. An operation of condylectomy with a modification of excision of the coronoid process, part of the ramus of the mandible and release of the fibrosed temporalis muscle was done. A final result of a freely mobile mandible and a mouth opening of 25-30 mms were obtained in all of the cases
