RESUMO
Two phenylpropanoid compounds: Acteoside and 2'-O-acetylechinacoside and a flavone derivative, 5,7,3-trihydroxy-6,4-dimethoxy flavone were isolated and identified from the alcoholic extract of Lippia nodiflora [L.] Michx. [= Phyla nodiflora [L.] Greene], family Verbenaceae. Their structures were established through physical and chemical methods, in addition to different spectroscopic techniques [UV, IR, MS, H and 13C-NMR]

From the water soluble fraction of the ethanolic extract of Duranta repens L. fruits a new iridoid glucoside [repenoside] and durantosides I and II were isolated. Structures were established by their spectral data [UV, IR, MS, [1]H-and [13]C-NMR]
RESUMO
The absorbance ratios, three dimensional analysis and peak rurity constant values for xanthine alkaloids, caffeine, theobromine and theophylline were determined over the quantity injected range of 0.166 to 8.30 micro using a multiple wavelength detector. A simple formula for the determination of peak purity constant [PPC] was suggested, that correlates peak area and concentration. The compounds were satisfactorily resolved chromatographically. The parameters were tested and compared for distinguishing the three alkaloids, even those with the same molecular weight and at very low concentrations
