RESUMO

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the causative agent of the extremely communicable viral infection coronavirus disease 19 (covid-19). Initially the virus was found at Wuhan, china which spread across the world exponentially and in a very short span. This outbreak has turned out to be a global health crisis and recently WHO regarded it as pandemic. The origin of the virus is predicted as either the natural selection in animal host prior to the transfer of the pathogen from animals to humans or the natural selection in humans and following transfer. Nevertheless, there is an extensive spread of virus by human to human transfer in the form of droplets. A few antiviral drugs are at the stage of clinical trials to eradicate the covid-19. In this review, a comprehensive approach is put forth to scrutinise the etiology, pathogenicity and transmission of SARS CoV-2. The review also deliberates broadly on the diagnosis and status of therapeutic treatment developed. It also focuses on the preventive and controlling measures from different sectors of the society. The review covers the details reported in 70 studies which were chosen after keyword searches carried out leading to over 884 resulting articles.

RESUMO

Nutraceutical is regarded as the bio active substance and the constituents are either of known therapeutic activity or are chemically defined substance generally accepted to contribute substantially to the therapeutic activity of the drug. Phytochemical screening involves botanical identification, extraction with suitable solvents, purification and characterization of the bioactive constituents of pharmaceutical importance. Quality control for the officially and safely of herbal product is essential .The quality control of photochemical may be defined as the status of a drug which is determined either by identity, purity, constant and other chemical physical biological properties or by manufacturing process .compound with synthetic drug The critical and approach for herbal drug are much more complex Nutraceutical, a portmanteau of the words “nutrition” and “pharmaceutical”, is a food or food product that reportedly provides health and medical benefits, including the prevention and treatment of disease. A product isolated or purified from foods that is generally sold in medicinal forms not usually associated with food. A nutraceutical is demonstrated to have a physiological benefit or provide protection against chronic disease.

RESUMO

The objective of present study is to develop oral colon specific pH dependant microcapsule of NSAID Drug Naproxen, to release drug in the colon and minimize or avoid local side effect by avoiding drug release in the upper git. Naproxen is encapsulated with Eudragit S 100 using O/W emulsion-solvent evaporation technique. Compatibility study was performed by I.R., D.S.C., X.R.D study. Microcapsules were evaluated for angle of repose, bulk density, tapped density, Carr’s index, particle size, drug loading, in-vitro drug release. The prepared microcapsules were white, free-flowing, and spherical in shape and particle size was in the range of 240.40-560.81μm. The drug-loaded microcapsules showed 69.88% to 98.73%. drug entrapment, angle of repose in the range of 28º.07” to 35 º.53”, bulk and tapped densities in the range of 0.4000 gm/cm3 to 0.4347 gm/cm3 and 0.4347gm/cm3 to 0.4787gm/cm3 respectively, Carr’s index ranges from 5.20 and 14.98. In vitro drug release studies were carried out up to 9th hr. in three different pH media, i.e., 0.1 N HCl (pH 1.2), phosphate buffer (pH 6.8 and 7.4). The drug-polymer concentration influences the particle size and drug release properties. All the formulations were following the Higuchi model of kinetic drug release.

RESUMO

Seventeen relatives of patients with Duchenne's muscular dystrophy (Group A) and 6 relatives of patients with adult type of muscular dystrophy (Group B) were studied. Short PR interval on electrocardiogram and abnormal systolic time interval (STI) were consistent findings in 14 of 15 female relatives (93.35%) in group A, while these criteria were lacking in group B. Myopathic pattern (i.e. tachycardia, short PR interval, R/S ratio in V1 greater than 1.5, significant Q wave in V4, V5, V6 on electrocardiogram) was present in two (13.35%) of 15 female relatives from group A. It was absent in group B. Male relatives in both the groups had normal electrocardiogram and normal systolic time interval.
