RESUMO

Neuropathic pain is a clinical symptom with complex mechanisms and high incidence. The commonly used analgesics have limited efficacy and can cause serious side effects. The theory of chronic pain entering collaterals was proposed by YE Tianshi, a famous physician focusing on warm diseases in the Qing dynasty, on the basis of the ancient therapies for pain. This theory is particularly suitable for the diagnosis and treatment of neuropathic pain in view of the clinical course and manifestations. The chronic neuropathic pain can enter the Yin collateral in deeper sites. The pathogenesis of neuropathic pain is summarized as a deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality. The root cause is the dysfunction of Zang-Fu organs, mainly the liver, kidney and heart, while the superficial causes are phlegm and stasis caused by the obstructed Qi and blood movement due to the consumption of Qi and blood in collaterals. Accordingly, the therapies such as dispelling blood stasis, resolving phlegm, and dredging collaterals should be adopted. This paper expounds the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pathogenesis and treatment of neuropathic pain, enriching the knowledge and providing new ideas for the TCM prevention and treatment of this disease as a collateral disease.

RESUMO

To investigate the effect of treatment based on syndrome differentiation combined with resuscitation inducing aromatic herbs for acute ischemic stroke (AIS).Forty four cases of AIS were randomly allocated to two groups. Twenty cases of Group A were treated with treatment based on syndrome differentiation combined with Tongqiao capsule(each capsule containing Moschus 0 04?g and Borneolum 0 1?g)and twenty four of Group B with treatment based on syndrome differentiation. Therapeutic effect were observed in the second week after medication. The total effective rate was 95% in Group A and 91 6% in Group B, the difference being not significant. However, the difference of markedly effective rate (80 0% in Group A and 54 2% in Group B) was significant (P

RESUMO

【Objective】To study the correlation of human leucocyte antigen(HLA) class Ⅱ allele with spleen-stomach damp-heat(SSDH) syndrome.【Methods】From those people with native place of Guangdong,16 healthy volunteers served as the normal control and 46 patients with chronic superficial gastritis or digestive ulceration were enrolled into the observation.Of 46 patients,26 were classified into SSDH and 20 into spleen deficiency(SD) syndrome.HLA-DRB1,HLA-DQA1,HLA-DQB1,and HLADPB1 alleles of HLA class Ⅱ from whole blood sample were analyzed by the method of polymerase chain reaction-sequence specific primers(PCR-SSP).【Results】The gene frequency of DQA1*0103 in SSDH group was remarkably higher than that in the normal control group(P

RESUMO

【Objective】To explore the relationship between damp-heat syndrome(DHS)and aortic atheroslerosis(AA),and to observe the effect of heat-clearing,dampness-resolving and stasis-removing therapy on AA.【Methods】DHS rabbit models were established by feeding with fatty diet and intravenous injection of endotoxins. The development of AA were observed under light microscope and electron microscope to evaluate the effect of heat-clearing,dampnessresolving and stasis-removing therapy.【Results】 Compared with the blank control group,an obvious atherosclerotic changes were showed in the model rabbits: injury of arterial intima, appearance of atherosclerotic plaque, formation of foam cells and proliferation of smooth muscle cells. After treatment, the above damages were relieved.【Conclusion】There has histological evidence for the pathogenesis of internal retention of damp-heat causing blood stasis, and heat-clearing,dampness-resolving and stasis-removing therapy is effective for AA.
