Visando medir a força de contração dos músculos abdutores do polegar e do quinto dedo foi desenvolvido um transdutor do tipo resistivo ("strain gauge"), fixado a um "splint" e conectado a um microcomputador. Este deverá registrar as forças durante contrações isométricas máximas, permitindo avaliações periódicas de pacientes portadores de lesão nervosa.
