RESUMO

Objective:To understand the needs, problems and challenges of medical personnel in the hospital for scientific research, propose tailored management measurements and suggestions for the hospital. Methods:The questionnaire was prepared by " Questionnaire Star" , the convenience sampling method was used, and information was collected by WeChat online chat group. Factor analysis and multi-dimensional preference analysis were adopted to analyze information collected. Results:Four main factors that affect the scientific research of medical personnel were identified. The most significant impact is the lack of information platform, followed by the lack of environmental atmosphere, lack of personal capacity and lack of personal interest. The research needs of medical personnel are divided into two categories: one is the more basic skill needs, which are mainly targeted at female, nurses, undergraduates, 5~10 years′ working experiences, medium-grade professional title, and people with no knowledge and experience in research. The other one is the needs of skill improvement, which are mainly targeted at younger, physicians, early career, lower professional titles, and had certain research knowledge. Conclusions:So far, there is a lot of space for improvement. It is recommended to promote the capacity building by training, strengthen the research team building and construct of research communication platform, at the same time, update the scientific research management system.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the economic burden of hepatitis C patients and related factors in Guangdong province. Methods In this study, cluster sampling method was used to select cases, including acute hepatitis C,chronic hepatitis C and liver cirrhosis cases from eligible outpatients and inpatients in 1 or 2 large general hospitals in all the 21 cities in Guangdong province.Questionnaire survey was conducted for all the hepatitis C patients to analyze their economic burden, while multivariate linear regression model was used to identify the related influencing factors. Results A total of 356 hepatitis C patients were enrolled in the study, with 176 outpatients (49.4%) and 180 inpatients (50.6%) respectively. The average age of the study subjects was (44.79± 11.73) year-olds.The annual direct economic costs of patients with acute hepatitis C,chronic hepatitis C and liver cirrhosis were 10 703.22 (IQR:7 396.75-16 891.91),14 886.63 (IQR:7 274.00-30 228.25) and 28 874.00 (IQR:13 093.69-56 350.00) Yuan (RMB) respectively. The annual indirect costs appeared as 2 426.99 (IQR:1 912.18-7 354.52),3 235.99 (IQR:1 323.81-6 619.07) and 5 442.35 (IQR:3 235.99-10 296.33) Yuan (RMB) respectively. The annual intangible costs were 5 000.00 (IQR:2 000.00-10 000.00),10 000.00 (IQR:4 000.00-30 000.00) and 10 000.00 (IQR:3 000.00-100 000.00)Yuan (RMB) respectively. The annual total costs were 22 306.17 (IQR:14 581.24-50 569.17),38 050.33 (IQR:17 449.57-68 319.62) and 80 152.18 (IQR:40 856.09-228 460.79) Yuan (RMB) respectively. Results from the multiple linear regression analysis showed that factors as:annual hospitalization days, annual number of outpatient visits, annual number of hospitalization, type of disease and the levels of the hospitals were related to the economic burden of patients with hepatitis C.Conclusion Patients with HCV-related diseases presented serious economic problem which calls for close attention in Guangdong province.

RESUMO

Objective To understand the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection status and syphilis prevalence among men who have sex with men (MSM) receiving voluntary counseling and testing appointed through a web-based registering system and related factors. Methods The MSM receiving web appointed HIV counseling and testing from 2011 to 2012 in Guangzhou were recruited and a questionnaire survey was conduct among them to obtain the information about their demographic characteristics and sexual behavior.Binary and multivariate logistic regression model were used to identify the factors associated with HIV infection or syphilis prevalence. Results A total of 4 904 MSM were enrolled in the study, the average age of the MSM was (28.77 ± 7.24) years, and 70.3% of them had high education level;the unmarried MSM accounted for 72.7%.The HIV infection rate and syphilis prevalence were 8.7% and 4.4% respectively. The co-infection rate of HIV and Treponema pallidum was 1.2% (59/4 904).About one in three MSM did not use condom at latest homosexual behavior,43.5% did not use condoms at each homosexual behavior in the past three months.Lower education level, occupation (worker or farmer),non-consistent condom use at each sex with men in the past three months, receiving HIV test or not and Treponema pallidum infection were associated with HIV infection.Age ≥40 years, lower education level, multi male sex partners in the past three months and HIV infection were associated with Treponema pallidum infection. Conclusion MSM receiving web appointed HIV counseling and testing had high prevalence of risk behaviors and high HIV infection rate, but had low previous HIV testing rate.It is necessary to strengthen the promotion of HIV test through web based appointment and conduct target behavior intervention in older MSM with lower education level.
