RESUMO

Obesity and saturated fat diet have a negative effect on plasma lipoproteins. The best therapeutic regiment for the treatment of obesity and reduction of serum lipoproteins is a diet containing non-saturated fatty acids accompanied with aerobic exercise. This study was carried to evaluate the effect of 8 weeks aerobic training and peanut consumption on serum Lipoproteins levels in overweight and obese men. This semi-experimental study was done on 36 obese males with age of 41.82 +/- 3.4yr, BMI: 32.38 +/- 2.50 kg/m2 in North of Iran during 2009. Subjects were divided in three equal groups: aerobic interval training, peanut consumption aerobic, interval training and control. Peanut consumption Training group were consumed 50gr peanuts daily. Prior and after training period, serum lipoproteins levels of subjects were evaluated. Data were analyzed using SPSS-16, ANOVA and LSD tests. There was a significant differences between the reduction of total mean serum cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoproteins, high density lipoproteins in experiment group II [aerobic interval training and peanut] compare to other groups [P<0.05]. Aerobic interval training plus peanut regiment reduce lipoprotein and specifically triglyceride and low-density lipoproteins in overweight and obese men

RESUMO

Determining the optimal and effective scheme for administrating the chemotherapy agents in breast cancer is the main goal of this scientific research. The most important issue here is the amount of drug or radiation administrated in chemotherapy and radiotherapy for increasing patient's survival. This is because in these cases, the therapy not only kills the tumor cells, but also kills some of the healthy tissues and causes serious damages. In this paper we investigate optimal drug scheduling effect for breast cancer model which consist of nonlinear ordinary differential time-delay equations. In this paper, a mathematical model of breast cancer tumors is discussed and then optimal control theory is applied to find out the optimal drug adjustment as an input control of system. Finally we use Sensitivity Approach [SA] to solve the optimal control problem. The goal of this paper is to determine optimal and effective scheme for administering the chemotherapy agent, so that the tumor is eradicated, while the immune systems remains above a suitable level. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of our proposed procedure. In this paper a new scheme is proposed to design a therapy protocol for chemotherapy in Breast Cancer. In contrast to traditional pulse drug delivery, a continuous process is offered and optimized, according to the optimal control theory for time-delay systems

RESUMO

Trichomoniasis is an infection of women urogenital tract that is transferred almost in all cases by sexual contact. This study was done to compare clinical presentations of trichomoniasis and several different paraclinical methods to determine simplest and most efficient method in doubtful patients to trichomonas infection in order to treat infected women and prevent from immethodical use of antibiotics and creation resistant strains. One hundred and fifty fertile women [15-50 years aged] that attended in gynecological clinics and had clinical pictures of trichomoniasis were studied to assess for the presence of trichomonas vaginalis by history, wet mount, papanicolaou smear and dorset's culture. Then data were analyzed. In 150 doubtful patients to trichomoniasis, average of age was 30.56 years. The most common symptoms were frequent pain with sexual intercourse and itching in genital area after persistent, malodor, frothy and yellow vaginal discharge. The most common sign in pelvic examination were frothy, yellowish discharge accompanied by cervical erosion. In 28 patients [18.67%] wet smear, Pap smear and culture were positive simultaneously, papanicolaou smear was positive only in 38 patients. Wet smear is most sensitive and specified for diagnosis of trichomonas vaginalis in doubtful female patients to trichomoniasis, and because of over diagnosing according to clinical manifestation, a confirmatory test should be performed before initiating therapy
