RESUMO
The idoine concentrations in nationally representative samples of foods commonly consumed by Saudis were determined using the colorimetric method. Food items belonging to bread group, dairy group, eggs, vegetables, fruits, fish, soft drinks and Saudi mixed meals were analysed for their iodine concentrations. Results have revealed iodine concentrations comparable to those for Britain and the United States. It is concluded that food consumed by Saudis appears to have an adequate iodine concentration
